Wrong, wrong, wrong. First let's get BBD height correct. He is not 6-6! The dislikers always skew the facts.
I don't think BBD is up to KG's play and KG is looking really good lately and, as a legend, should be our starter.
But I also don't think that BBD doesn't have potential as a starting P.F. I think he definately does. And yes he made 2 jumpers last game, so, yes, it looks like his jumper is coming back.
mmbaby, please explain why we should expect a PF with the following attributes to become our starting PF in the future:
-3rd year player who hasn't gotten in better physical shape.
-Is routinely blocked around the hoop, and has not improved finishing around the hoop.
-Due to wingspan & height, he will forever be considered "undersized"
-His FT% has gotten worse since his rookie year.
-His FG% has gotten worse since his rookie year.
and the mother of all reasons that I don't get why he should be considered...
According to his 82games profile this entire season, Out of all 21 unique on/off court categories (I did not count the 5 "total" or "net" categories, since they would be redundant), The Celtics are WORSE having Davis on the court in 18 of those categories, EQUAL having Davis on the court in 2 of those categories, and BETTER in only 1 category (offensive rebounding).
Even I was shocked by those statistics. We all know that he does a good job getting offensive rebounds, but apparently him being on the court is a negative in EVERY OTHER ASPECT. And it is a broad range of categories too, from fouls committed to points made, and even free throws taken.
Why should we invest in a player like this??
