6'6 300 quick enough to play mediocre NBA basketball

If he decided to play in the NFL ... What position?  Would he get a contract right away without ever playing in college?

Still ragging on the only guy on your team that gives 100%.

What good is 1 player going 100% if its not in an effective way?

Baby gives 100%, but his 100% is not effective right now. He's 100% is still not good enough to avoid his shot getting blocked, his 100% is not good enough to defend guys like varejao and keep him off the boards. His 100% isn't effective, so I could care less if a certain player is going 100%, if he is not doing it in an effective and helpful way, then whats the point?

I realize that he's not always effective, but to rag on the guy when he's one of the only guys on the team that at least tries is wrong, imo.  Can you really blame a guy for trying very hard even if the results are not there?

Baby played great Fri. night. His defense was effective and intense, his screens and blocks kept opponent off the boards, not to mention the 15 points he got. He obviously is 'effective'. That word was started on this site by someone and it has been used excessively by the same old people who called Baby other names in the past. I guess he is someone people just love or hate. But let's at least be aware of the truth. He is very effective and we're lucky to have him.

Your argument would be valid except for one big problem. The person that was getting his minutes also plays 100% every time he stepped on the floor. I give BBD credit for effort, but there has to be at least a semblance of consistent results out there. He is so much worse right now than he was when KG went out that it isn't even funny. He went from a mediocre jumper to none. He went from rotating well on defense to most of the time being a step late. He went from a 15" vertical to a 5" one. He just isn't very good out there. With us playing as poorly as we are it is time to get a guy on the floor who can also contribute.

Ray by the way is also giving it 100% while on the floor. Other than that you're probably right about effort. I would give some credit to Finley and Nate although they're new to us and I am sure that the starting squads lack of effort will suck that out of them as well...

Hmmm… Now who is misleading the masses?! You pick the one game in the past 5 that he has put up any decent stats. In a route EVERYONE plays well. The guy is shooting .431 from the field this year. That's awful for a big man who shoots a lot of shots down low. He is also shooting 65% from the free throw line.  He is worse in every stat except for rebounding which he has done a nice job with. The problem though is over half of them are offensive rebounds and we know the result of 90+% of those. Blocked shots or bad misses. That's where the "effective" part comes in and is a fair label. He isn't effective for us this year. He hustles. That's about it. It's fake hustle though. All show and no results. He definitely doesn't make that second unit better.

I realize you are someone who doesn't like him and that clouds your perceptions.

And Steve, he would make a great football player, except he is 6'8" and 289 lbs.

And your perception is crystal clear with a screen name of mmbaby?!

That's good. Don't address the facts. Generalities are much easier to spread if you are ignoring them. I actually like BBD. I was thrilled they picked him. I felt he had a lot of upside. I don't however love the fact that he is fat and let himself regress this past offseason. Especially since there was no reason after his bone headed altercation to have not come back in trim and in the best shape of his career. Had he done so there probably would have been some execution and results behind that hustle and not just a bunch of out of control nonsense.

Well, the Patriots certainly need a fullback.  Can you imagine BBD lead blocking for Sammy Morris?

Yes, he is my favorite player, hence my screen name. And that allows me to pay close attention to him. I've never seen you post anything positive about him. All you post about him is name-calling. You need to put on your glasses.

You can certainly blame a guy (Glen) for taking jumpers he shouldn't be taking.

But on topic, I imagine he'd make a good fullback.

D Line. I like Baby and a Celtic ... but would LOVE him as a Patriot. I don't think he's 6'8" .. .but that doesn't matter on the gridiron.

D-Line.. .Tackle or end. It would be awesome to see.
