Hustle, yes, but did you guys see him run? He runs like Walter Brennan walks. It made my knees hurt to watch.

Of course, I'd rather watch that than the rotting, fetid corpse of Rahweed Wallace on the floor.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Powe sucks, I'm glad he's gone.

Waterfalls suck too, and so do rainbows, not to mention downhill skiing and topless beaches...

maybe we should trade KG for Powe...and ask the Knicks if they'd take Pierce for Billy Walker.

And while we're at, maybe Gerald could be signed as well...

Oh yeah, and how about Ryan Gomes?

Do you really have to go there in every thread?

The OP is just saying we could have used a roster spot on him. I dont see anything there about a significant role. Just a roster spot to wait and see if he gets healthy.

You seeing alot of pretty running on the Cs these days? I've never seen a Celtics team look so ancient, including in Larry's final years...

Watching KG land on the one leg and hop around on it before carelully placing his bed leg down on the floor is just plain sad.

To be fair, he always ran pretty funny.  But I agree, he is not what he used to be, and I am still hesitant to think he will be anywhere close by the end of this year.

He really doesn't need to be good this year -- they have a cheap option on him for next year. Smart move by the Cavs, dumb move by the Cs. But hey -- we need that roster flexibility.

Well, its only a dumb move by the C's, if Powe was willing to give them the same contract that he gave the Cavs...and I am of the opinion (based on statements by Powe) that he was not going to do that.

But your right, it was a good move by the Cavs.  This year, anything he gives them is gravy, and then next year, he should be close to full strength again.

Right. But I believe the conclusion we'd reached in the myriad convesations about this before is that had the Cs gone into the situation without essentially telling leon "look for another job" and offered the exact deal, he'd likely have taken it to stay in Boston. Either way your point makes sense.

Here's what Leon has to say about his old team:

"Looking at the defense from the championship year, when we won it, it doesn't look the same," Powe said. "It looks like the rotation is slower and they ain't getting to the shooters and closing out like they did before. I don't know if it's effort or maybe they're a little older.

"But they've been old."

Ugh.

Also, here's what Lebron has to say about the way his team approaches defense:

"Defensively, we were awesome in the fourth," James said. "Fourth-quarter time is our staple and that's when we turn up the aggression. That's exactly what we did."

Must be refreshing.

I miss Powe too, but I agree with the posters here who stated that they understood why he was let go.

I just hope that Powe is not on the outside looking in by June 2010.

His production helped CLE win last night, but I'm holding out hope that once we get it together we can run deep into the playoffs.

Leon Powe will always be a popular figure in Boston, but he's not here now. It's hard to see him with Lebron (One of our Mortal Enemies).

From here on out when we see him, it's as enemies. Sure he will Always get much love and respect from me and others here, but he is in our Targets now. He is part of our Roadblock.

We've got to break him (and CLE) to reach our goals.
