Now some of you might think this is corny but at this point why not give it a try.  Mind you,  I am not criticizing the people who were booing because that performance deserved it, but lets try to motivate this team as Fans.  Now I will not be at the game this Friday but would like to get an " UBUNTU " chant going after intro and before tipoff.  Let this team know that we as fan are with them and want to remind the Vets on this team  and teach the new guys What Ubuntu means.  Like I said I know some who read this will think its corny and if you can think of something better go for it.  If you are on board and going to the game or know someone who is going spread the word,  lets see if we can wake this team up.  It can't hurt.

I was actually amazed with how supportive the fans were tonight.  Yeh there were boos, but any time the team showed any sign of life the fans were cheering loudly.
Yup

Look this is a shot in the dark but prob. the only positive thread out here.  I think someone like Garnett will feed off it...IMO   Lets be Fans and support this team when it is down.

I would be all about buying into UBUNTU if the Celtics had shown any concrete signs of buying into it themselves this season.

Look I hear ya on this,  but maybe we as fans can instill it back in them.  Its the least we can do.  I ws part of the Bucket Brigade and i can tell you it is not hard to get a good chant flowing through the Garden.  I think this one can mean something to this team.  Especially when all this team is going to hear on the radio and see on TV for the next 2 days is how old they are and they don't have a chance.  We all know that will be the talk.  So lets pick them up.  Let them know we are with them.

I agree with some of you said....the crowd at the Garden sure was very supportive.

For every run we made....or steal or w/e good thing we did...the place roared up....and they didn't even step back to the let the C's hear the boos when they earned them.

I too like the idea of the Ubuntu chants......let these guys hear it from the fans that we still believe as a team these guys got enough talent to go far in the post-season; and the C's players should too start believing in themselves and in one another again.

Yeah, but I certainly can't fault the threads right now, though....any Celtic Fan that knows about our History knows that we haven't been known as a team that just mails it in. It's just not part of our Tradition here, and I think that's why there is the animosity.

I still Believe, but not based off of last night or the New Jersey Nightmare..

great idea, wish i could be at the game to help get it going. if you or someone you know is going to be at the game try to make it happen, id love to hear yall on tv.

the season aint over yet, dont underestimate this teams hunger to win it all.

consider these thoughts chris forsberg shared in his mailbag today on espnboston...

"But let's say the Celtics stumble their way into the third seed in the Eastern Conference and draw a team like Toronto in the first round. Does that scare anybody? With that third seed, the team is likely to draw the Orlando Magic in the second round, and Boston actually matches up well against them (heck, a healthy frontcourt last year probably pushes Boston through to the conference finals). Not even the Cavaliers should scare this team considering they beat them on opening night in Cleveland and should have defeated them last month, even without Paul Pierce."

this is the same team we all thought was unstoppable at the beginning of the season, plus mike finley and nate robinson.

dont overreact like all the bandwagon fans and media, the celts will play their way outta this. this team will have a long playoff run this year, wait and see

I am Ndebele from Southern Africa my handle means "Chief" in siNdebele our language. Ubuntu is our life principle and originated with us.

This team is so far from understanding Ubuntu that the chant would be meaningless to them. There is a deep sense selflessness that it contains that some of these Superstar players will never ever understand yet somehow they seem to have graspped it in the championship year when they genuinely seemed to work for each other.

The fun[dang]etal requirement is to leave your ego at the door. Unfortunately from Danny Ainge all the way through the team and including Doc too many egos have developed.

With the possible exception of Ray Allen who is the consumate team player.
