Exactly. TP. I really wish you posted more because I've liked everything I've read posted by you.

Thanks for the kind words.  My CB activity comes in spurts, depending on how busy real life gets.

I like mongrels.  I had a husky-doberman cross once: big and feisty.  Never cared much for dobermans previously, but crossed with a husky, it made for a good combo.  Dobermans are loyal and smart, while huskies are territorial and great with kids.  When my daughter was a toddler, she had this beast wrapped around her little finger.

Although the name doesnt sound too enticing, I would recommend a Labradoodle.  They're adorable and awesome with people and a big plus is that they don't shed because they're a cross between a Lab and a Poodle.  I have two of my own and they come in different sizes too

It depends on how active you want to be with your dog. If you plan on taking them for long walks, playing with your dog frequently, you should look for an active breed like Lab.

Please dont get pure breed dog and please resuce the one you get.

We got both of our labs, one yellow and one black, from Petfinder.com and rescued them from Arkansas where they have a horrible problem down there having people adopt dogs. We had them flown in from a rescue and our black lab, was in a kill shelter. There are so many dogs there that could use your help as well and they dont have a long time in some of these shelters.

Both of our dogs are awesome and very loving and definitely like long walks! They are also not destructive in any way. I wish you all the best in whatever dog you get. And when you are ready, why not get 2! brother and sister would be nice!

From my experiences with owning dogs,i have found some mixed-breed dogs make very good pets, with good temperments and smart.Whereas ive had a couple full breeds that i was disappointed in for one reason or the other. So i wouldn't limit myself to making sure its a 100% full breed all the time.Chemistry as some have already stated is key to.

I agree with Fat Kid's Dad---try a shelter or better yet a few and get to meet the dogs before adopting any.  better to make 2-3 visits and getting some time in a shelter's "bonding" area before picking a dog.

I've got 6, 4 from shelters, and it's definitely worth the while rescuing one from a shelter as long as you get to know the dog's personality first.

Also, getting a mixed breed also reduces the risk of the health issues that typically accompany a purebred.

Keep trying to post a picture of my dogs on this site but still haven't figured out how to do it.  Can anyone give me a step by step on it?  (no fear of sounding incredibly inept for that question)

Danny Ainge asked himself this very same question last summer, and ended up with Rasheed Wallace.

If you are watching a lot of C's ball right now you might want to consider a Basset Hound. They are great dogs and when you want to cry from watching out team play so poorly just look at that Basset's sad expression and realize things aren't all that bad.

Get a black lab.  Nicest dogs ever.

I had a black lab crossed with a german shepherd.  Great mix!

get a morkie...a maltese and yorkie mix.

not only are they about the cutest dogs in the universe, then are very smart, psychotically loving, and easy to feed/clean up since they weigh in at about 8 to 10 pounds.

i have yet to figure out how to post pix here, but trust me, they are cute as heck.

here is a link with a pix of my morkie. her name is coco (as in chanel). please scroll down about 1/2 of the way. it is part of an article i wrote in korean about trappist monk beer... which by the way is great stuff. :)

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Got myself one of these from the pound.  They can be a little off-putting when you first see them, but they're really great dogs.
