Nate is the NBA bench equivalent of a slumpbuster.

You are on a dry streak, every fattie at last call starts looking good.

But they are still fat.

Guy is a chucker and defensive liability. He was taking contested 3s with 18 seconds left in the shot clock and no one under the basket the other night. Dude is like Antoine's Mini-Me.

He'll give you two losses for every win, IMO. Play him, but don't resign him unless it is hella cheap. There are better options out there to give money and minutes to.

JMO.

An Antoine mini-me is fair enough, and I'll take it. Like Antoine, Nate is a lighting rod as a personality and offensive machine.

If we have to rely on Nate as a primary scorer, we're in trouble. But as an offensive / energy spark, i'll absolutely take him.

I like how he and TA fly around the court. But I'm skeptical. If Nate's 3's stop falling (like what happens in prolonged stretches to Rasheed, Ray, Eddie) ...what then? These 3's aren't sustainable.

Hence, the Ornery Child must go. Time for Danny to role the dice on 6'10" Larry Sanders in this summer's draft.

http://www.nbadraft.net/players/larry-sanders

"Post player with tremendous defensive upside due to his unbelievable length: has a 7-foot-7 wingspan (His arms need their own insurance policy) plus good timing and explosiveness ... Already a bigtime shot blocker and is on his way to becoming an absolutely dominant one. As a freshman he averages just 16 minutes per game but is already tied for 10th in the country in blocked shots at 3.0 per game. His block per minute average is the best in the country ... Very fluid and fast running the floor. Shows a solid motor, hustling the floor and fighting for rebounds ... Has excellent foot speed and lateral quickness for a bigman ..."

Nate + 4 athletic defenders. Press and run.  ;D

LARRY? is that you? I keep seeing this post no matter what the origanal post was about. Got the idea. Larry Sanders. Never seen him play ball, but i really like his show on HBO a while back.

He's awesome in a 6th man role.  I'm loving Nate too.  His ability and willingness to create and take shots so easily is a huge benefit for the C's.  He doesn't have to be set up like House and can get his shot off anytime.  His energy and aggressiveness off the bench is just what this bored bunch needed.

There is something to be said about the spark he's giving the second unit.  To a lesser extend, Landlord does the same; they're a couple cats that are so pent up from not being able to play, they've busting tail when they get minutes.  That's exactly what we need right now.

I kinda like the second unit right now.  TA's playing so much better than anyone could have hoped for or expected.  I love Daniels, he's just a smooth, solid presence out there.  Nate makes everything go.  'Sheed's frustrating as hell, but hopefully as the playoffs near he'll start playing down low a little more often.  Landlord's attacking the glass.

Not a bad second unit; most of those guys, with the exception of 'Sheed, seem like thet actually want to be playing, unlike our starters.

pretty cool when his shots are falling, but I don't expect it to last.   And he's a defensive liability.   In the long run it will not help or hurt us.
Some of you guys are talking like Nate is Eddie House.  The difference is that Nate can also drive and at least has SOME playmaking abilities.  I fully expect to see Nate drive a bit more once teams start trying to run him off the 3-point line.

I also am loving Nate. Him and Sheed are the only people on the second unit who you will consistently create their own offense, for some reason TA hasn't been taking that many shots, big Baby tries to create his own offense but isn't successful.

IMO Nate has been the mvp of the last two games. His energy is contagious. No one can expect him to shoot 50+ % from 3 like he has been doing since getting to the c's. Eddie would go through hot streaks when he would hit like Nate is hitting now, but then he would go cold and be useless. If Nate goes cold he can still go to the basket, get steals, play defense and even get some rebounds.

I don't know how any objective fan can't be happy with what he has given us so far.

Doc put it perfectly. He is fresh air. New energy. A guy who has never been on a winning situation. He might be reminding the rest of the team how lucky they are to have the talent assembled around them.

I see a little more sense of pride in the last 2 games.

Emphasis on 2 games though. Trying to stay even keel for my blood pressure's sake.
