If nothing else, it'll bring to an end the idiotic "you're not a true fan if you're not predicting Banner 18 this year" posts.

Not happening, folks. Been obvious for several weeks.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

This loss means less to me than the Cavs, Magic, and ATL games this season. Those were the measuring stick games that would show if the C's belonged at the top. The C's haven't fared to well in those games.

Today was a vet team coasting until the last few minutes. The only thing today's game should show is this team isn't enough anymore to just coast to wins even against the worst teams.

Right...we aren't good enough to coast to a win against one of the worst teams ever.

And the Cavs were/are good enough to coast against us, then win in the 2nd half.

Doesn't look good for #18.  Would we even make the playoffs w/o the early season run?

I think its ok...i dont like the loss, but what can we do .
To be honest...yeh the game was ugly, you can blame the refs or w/e but the Nets were playing harder than us today...

at least we saw that the Celtics really arent really out of gas...5 minutes left in the 4th down 18, we came back ferociously to only 6 pts down...this shows the celtics have the power to do anything just lack of effort in the beginning.

Danny Ainge even said it himself...lack of effort for the starters...the bench isnt really doing bad...its the starters who are being lazy...come playoff time i can see a different celtics that i am seeing now...im keeping my faith...

I agree with you. These guys have a huge lack of effort and focus at the moment, and its hurting them. Sure they can turn it on and make a good run like they did today, but they did it too late and it cost us the game. If we're struggling on the offensive end, then we need to tighten up the defense. If we don't score, we shouldn't allow the opponent to score either.

Sheed is really bugging me. I don't want to single him out, but it angers me to see him not taking advantage of his size. Pau and Bynum are similar in size to him, but how many times do we see them near the 3 pt line? Sheed dominates in the paint, and if he doesn't get a chance to shoot then he should use his size to get offensive rebounds for us.

And lastly like DA and Perkz said.....some of the guys are just bored and waiting for the playoffs to start. Well if that is the case then bench the guys who don't want to play and let the others play.

If your not going to put an honest effort (regardless of which team your facing) then you shouldn't be on the court.

This team lacks the mentality not the talent.  I hate to say this.. but people like Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan have something inside them that KG, Ray Allen, and PP do not have.

Perk played today like he is bored and waiting for the playoffs.

This is an example of a group of players who were so excited to get a championship that there was nothing left once that goal was met. None of them have the fire that they did in 08. Doc has little to do with their effort. I don't care who the coach is, this won't change because the team has either given up or seriously thinks they can turn it on. Point fingers wherever you want, but a shakeup is needed on the court. A coaching change isn't going to do anything though.

Using capital letters wont magically transfer your energy and passion to the team via the internet. Soooo

Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.
