One game doesn't make a season, but I must ask where do we go from here? There's got to be a butt-chewing coming for this one.

Back in the day when I played regularly, the coach would make us run wind sprints after a loss like this..

The only problem is it's not one game. It's about the tenth.

  • Let's Go Celtics!
A few times are evident:

- They sorely miss Pierce

- The BBD/Sheed combo doesn't work

- Defensive effort is not there

Add to that:
-Scal should have a permanent place cheerleading on the bench, nothing more.
Definitely. There is no place on this team for guys who are playing good defense -- just doesn't fit the mold.

No one played good defense today... And offensively, Scal couldn't hit the ocean with a brick.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

I've been tuned into the Chile earthquake which when you think about it, appears to have the same kind of storyline as this basketball game...

Comparing a natural disaster to an atrocious basketball game is just wrong, especially when it happened less than 12 hours ago.  I don't care how awful the C's have been lately.  You just can't do that.
Sorry to be nasty, had a rough day, but I have to answer that with; ever hear of "sticks 'n stones"?

It's just words m8. And it's used to express the grievest of griefs.

We lost to the Nets.

That's bad.

comparing a great 3-point shooter off the bench to an actual home that has burned to the ground is just as bad.

It amazes me if you thought Scal played good defense today. He was committing stupid fouls all over the place and his constant need to pass the ball even when other guys work hard to set him up for the shot only to have his pass up an open shot and give it right back to them puts us in a bad position offensively. I thought this was one of his worst games of the season.

There *is* nothing to say. I thought of a huge amount of things to say, said some of them, nothing is comforting. I think we should just forget about today. Badly.

I say Danny goes out and signs Sean Williams and Darius Miles.

And then force Doc to use a rotation of:

Nate Robinson, Marquis, Darius Miles, Sheldon Williams, and Sean Williams

rotation guys: Marcus Landry, and the Red Claws guys.

At this point I'd rather see guys out on the floor, who are going to playi hard, and who will give there all because they are fighting to become players in this league, and prove that they belong.

Give: the Big 3, rondo, perk, baby, sheed, scal, Sheldon-Williams type minutes, for a while.

  • It's not hard to work hard.
FG
NJ: 32-72 (44%)
BOS: 42-84 (50%)

3PFG
NJ: 6-13 (42%)
BOS: 3-19 (16%)

FT
NJ: 34-41 (83%)
BOS: 9-11 (82%)

REB
NJ: 35 (10 OREB)
BOS: 41 (14 OREB)

AST
NJ: 15
BOS: 32

STL
NJ: 12
BOS: 8

BLK
NJ:5
BOS:3

TO
NJ: 15
BOS: 18

PTS OFF TO
NJ: 29
BOS:10

So basically, the Celts took more attempts, shot a better percentage, rebounded better, passed the ball better, but the disparity in points from free throws, threes, and turnovers ruined them.

It's pretty astonishing that the Celts had 18 turnovers and surrendered 29 points from them.  If the Nets turned every single celtics TO into a layup it only would have been 36.

Um, no. It's not.  Just admit it was a poor choice of words and move on.

Too awful for words. Haven't posted much, as most of the time what I'm thinking re: Celtics has been pretty much said already, but felt the need to vent after this nightmare.

Was lucky enough to travel to Boston to see games V Heat, Nets and Magic earlier this month.

During the Nets game, 2 guys behind were talking. It was at a stage where we were 5/6 points down and one was saying how it was just one game, won't make a difference to playoff seeding, shouldn't be concerned if we lose etc. His friend struggled to think of reasons why we should go all out to triumph over the crappy Nets.

All I can say is I hope that guy was there today. One very good reason not to let a team like that beat you: the utterly demoralizing effect it has one every single person involved with the club!

I feel particuarly sorry for all the fans who had to pay money to endure that today. Keep the faith everyone.

I don't normally like to come on here right after a loss so that I don't post knee jerk reactions.  Plus, I don't know what else I can say that hasn't already been said.

However, I had to say this.  I saw a mix of guys really trying with guys that were just plain lazy.  That is a bad mix for team chemistry.

Here is what I mean:

On several occasions, I saw Perkins and Wallace watch a rebound as it came there way and instead of boxing out, they waited and watched Lopez, Humphries, et al steal it away.

I saw BBD give a great effort on an offensive possesion only to miss a layup. His frustration was clear as he was really trying only to come up short.

I saw Robinson and Wallace both reach in instead of trusting their teammates to have their back.  On both instances I'm thinking of, there was actually a teammate there that was in position to help out.

I saw Rondo make a great deflection that dropped right in from of Wallace only to have the Nets quicker to the lose ball.  Rondo was trying his best and was clearly frustrated at his teammates flatfootedness(if that's a word).

I think this sums it up for me.  The team is stinking because we are not getting efforts from everyone...only a few.

Good Effort:
KG
Rondo
Marquis
BBD
TA

Horrible and Lazy:
Perk
Ray
Sheed
Robinson
Scal
