congratulations to the Celtics for officially replacing the Nets as the laughingstock of the NBA.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
fortunately for me I live in sunny (well not so much today) Florida.  And this was also the year I decided to not renew my NBA League Pass.  So I didn't get to witness this debacle firsthand.  I've been tuned into the Chile earthquake, which when you think about it, appears to have the same kind of storyline as this basketball game...

The Celtics played like garbage and they got their butt kicked.

A few times are evident:

- They sorely miss Pierce

- The BBD/Sheed combo doesn't work

- Defensive effort is not there

The box score suggests the starters were barely above par, and the bench totally got pounded.  Not a good combo.

And against the NETS!!!  Did Dr. J walk through that door or something?

you can't win a game when the other team shoots 4 times as many free throws as you. We played badly but the Nets got LeBron calls the whole game and we were the home team. I guess everyone likes to kick you when you're down.

Never thought Donny would summarize my thoughts so accurately.

As positive as I can be most of the time, I can't sugar-coat this one.

Just Bad.

I still believe we'll have Banner 18 this year, but this one hurts.

Add to that:
-Scal should have a permanent place cheerleading on the bench, nothing more.

We were still in the game, if they would have bothered to call an obvious travel on Humphries. But with an assortment of laughable calls against us all day, I guess we shouldn't be very disturbed by this.

The bottom line is, it shouldn't have gotten to the point where the game depends on a bunch of bad calls. This mostly entails playing 48 minutes of good defense.

Definitely. There is no place on this team for guys who are playing good defense -- just doesn't fit the mold.

Worst loss in celtics history that I can remember. We lost to a team on pace for the second worst record of all time.
Refs, injuries, nothing makes that more acceptable.

is there any one (or 2 or 3) Doc can bench for shucking or is the whole team on snooze? An embarassment.

  • Thank you Eddie!
I've been tuned into the Chile earthquake which when you think about it, appears to have the same kind of storyline as this basketball game...

Comparing a natural disaster to an atrocious basketball game is just wrong, especially when it happened less than 12 hours ago.  I don't care how awful the C's have been lately.  You just can't do that.
