I would take him back at the veteran minimum in a heartbeat.

Well, I would want to see what my other options are...but addressing this point in a vacuum: That's the problem. Scal is a vet minimum talent being paid much more than that. That's been the biggest criticism of the Scal acquisition. Is that his fault? No. Danny gave him that money. Has the Scal signing kept the C's from making other major moves? No, but that doesn't make the signing any less hanus.

I would prefer the Celtics to sign James Singleton instead of bringing back Scalabrine.

Scal would be my second preference, behind Singleton, for that minimum contract mobile defensive minded backup PF slot.

some of you guys crack me up. he can defend several positions??? what positions are those? ok..hmm. neither guard position or the center position. he is too slow for small forwards. ok that leaves one position that he frequently gets burned on. remember rashard lewis in last year's playoffs. if you think really hard you can see he did a poor job instead of a good one. was he able to stay in front of him once or twice? sure. but people have selective memory. several positions. hahahaha.

Do you people not realize how worse KG and PP's injuries would be if Scal was not there to carry their bags?

Fred Roberts was a lousy basketball player...but he contributed more than Scal ever has.  And that's not a compliment...  I don't know what some of you see in this clown...

Dont ever underestimate what a tan can do for one's confidence. I hereby demand Doc start him instead of Marquis tomorrow night.

Edit: I attached a photo but how do you embed in the posts? Thanks in advance.

And the other problem, of course, is that we likely won't go 10 deep in the playoffs.  So while that lineup may be a good lineup in the regular season, it won't happen in the playoffs.

I hope that after he gets his tan no one mistakes him for Clarence Glover.

Scal IS very important to the team. You guys should realize this. NEVER underestimate the healing power of laughter.

I mean if there's one thing this team needs, it's healing power.

My favorite Scal intangible is that in 9.2 minutes per game he averages .8 rebounds. Way to get up there, big fella.

Someone has to keep the bench warm, (though I'm not quite sure it's worth $3,413,793.00/year). ;)

This is the chief reason I'd rather have Singleton than Scalabrine. Scal pulls down around 5.5 boards per 36 versus 10 per 36 by Singleton. A huge difference.

Singleton is also a very good defensive player who has the quickness and mobility to handle those athletic perimeter orientated fours, like Scal does. Singleton doesn't have Scal's jump shot but I think his superior rebounding is more important.
