Hello all-- I hope there are other season ticket holders out there who read this and can respond. I received my playoff/2011 season ticket renewal this week and my tickets increase in price next year by nearly 20%. I sit in the "cheap seats" but that is still a big increase for me. Wondered if any other ticket holders can share if their prices went up and if so, by how much, as the info isn't available via the Celts web site. Thanks guys.

I haven't gotten the packet yet, but I checked online, and mine went up 12.5%.  Honestly, its not terrible.  I think its a tough time to raise prices, but they have been paying a LOT for this product, so I am not surprised.  This also may be the last time they can afford to raise prices for a while, since the team is likely to be in decline very soon.

Ultimately, I am still happy enough (well, as happy as I could be to throw out that kind of money) with the ticket prices, relatively speaking, since they are still significantly cheaper than buying single-game tickets.

I think they also kept the prices the same this year, so it is really a smaller increase on an annual basis.

Still stinks, though.

Just curious, how much of a savings for the season tickets compared to the single-game costs (if you don't mind sharing that kind of info)?  I go to a few games a year and anything lower than the upper arena is fairly costly.

I don't think you save any money with season tickets. My seats are $90 each and I believe that is how much they cost for a single game. As for the renewal notice, I have not yet gotten mine. Hoewever, the tickets did not go up this year so if it is 12 percent, not too bad over two years.

It depends on the seats and whether you have full seasons or half seasons.

Just checked.

Mine went from $38 to $42 per game. 2 seats so $84/game next season. That's not too bad.  After seeing what my dad usually has to deal with regarding his Red Sox season tickets, this isn't that bad at all.

Mine in section 317 cost $38 a piece and I've seen ticketmaster charge $66.50 plus fees for my price section.  The savings is pretty significant.  We are required to pay that price for the preseason tickets too.

It also depends on the games.  I believe ticket prices differ from game to game (for example, this year, I have seen tickets in the same tier as mine for around $35 some games, and $45 other games).

Yeah, mine went from $28-$32.  And if these price hikes mean a couple seats open up down in the first few rows of the balcony (where I believe your seats are, right?), then I will be even happier.

Speaking of half/full seasons, do any of you know if they still allow you to do get a half season only?  Or are the existing 1/2 season holders grandfathered in?

Reason being, this was my first year as a season ticket holder, and the time/financial/ticket management commitment of 50+ games became quite a lot.  Tack on the instances where I had to eat the tickets for a few games and I can't make that commitment again.  Hoping to downgrade to a half-season rather than get rid of them completely.

Do any of the fellow STHers out there know if they will let me do this?  I am going to call my ticket rep anyway to find out, but I figure I am on the forums anyway I might as well ask :)

Yeah, mine are in the front row of the balcony.  If you can get seats in the first 3 rows, go for it.  Its the perfect spot, IMO.

...

I use the Cletics season ticket resell option the few times this hapens.  Seats sell right away with a credit to next years renewal.

Wow -- Unless I am reading something wrong, my tickets went from $90 each to $115. Not very happy about that and could cause me not to renew. YIKES.

And are you kidding me on the cost of playoff tickets? $120 for the first round, $145 for the second, $180 for the third and $230 if they make the finals. These are $90 seats and will cost $230 each if the Celts are lucky enough to make the finals. Las year the finals round tickets were $200 each, so this is a 15 percent increase. Sorry, but this is outrageous.
