Last night may have been the clincher, but I have come to the conclusion that Lamar Odom is the Laker I dislike the most.  Obviously I despise Kobe because he is Kobe, but I still respect the fact he is an absurd talent and basketball player.  It's easy to dislike Artest for obvious reasons.  But when I watch the games, the person I find myself loathing the most is Lamar.

I think my dislike for him started in the C's/Lakers finals in 07.  In the final game when the outcome was already decided, he was trying to instigate things with KG and anyone else that would look his way.  Sticking his tongue out, smiling (even though they were down 30 with a few minutes to go.)

I don't respect his game because he is an inconsistent underachiever.  He will show up every once in a while and can be a key cog on a really good team that doesn't need to rely on him.

This summer I saw him on Jimmy Kimmel with his new reality wife Chloe and he came across exactly as I expected him to.  Jimmy asked him if the marriage was for real.  They both obviously said yes.  He then asked Lamar what her middle name was, and he had to whisper in her ear first. (Probably good to know your wife’s name) Then he made some pat yourself on the back comment about his performance in the finals.  Just added to my opinion of him.

Last night was the capper.  Yes, KG does plenty of talking.  But at least he is a passionate, 100% effort guy that brings it every night.  When Lamar does it, he just comes across as immature.  Sticking out his tongue, smiling, trying to start something.  I know there are lesser players that talk smack, but for some reason, he just really irks me as a player.

There, I feel better now.

Totally agree with everything you said. I really dislike him...Kobe I can at least respect his game. Lamar Odom just seems so arrogant and smug.

Wow, I was thinking the same thing last night.  I always kinda like Odom, but he just really annoyed me yesterday with all of his fake smiles and the way he just tries to get under your skin... Mission accomplished i guess

Front running show boater. Looks great in the first half of games. Then when it counts, he shrivels up.

Heck of a role player... but I feel ya.

Lamar Odom is transitioning to an elite roleplayer.

Ya he just embodies that LA persona which I cannot stand. I actually like Artest though. Even though he is dirty, he plays hard and he plays defense. Annnnd he still finds time to be a rapper.... ???

  • Rondo = Good
He's definitely an underachiever considering his talent and physical gifts (he's like a very good Tim Thomas), but he is still a great rebounder.  I should know; he's on my fantasy team and he's had many, many 15+ rebound games.

He's much much better than Tim Thomas ever was. He's just not a number one or two offensive option.

His rebounding, defensive versatility, and rebounding have made him one of the league's elite players. But people always look at his poor FT% and offensive issues and downgrade him.

Lamar Odom can be really good at times but he is way too inconsistent and his behavior is annoying.

I agree with you guys, he is the Laker I dislike the most (close with Gasol though). But like Kobe, Gasol still has the talent to back down his antics, although he's still showing frequently why I call him Pau Gasoft. ;D

Odom is really a punk with his tongue antics and his taunting. Rondo got T'd up last night for "taunting" Shannon Brown after Ray's dunk ; yet just after this dunk, Odom posterizes Ray and he taunts him for like 10 seconds, and the refs don't give him a T. Pathetic, it added to my hate of Odom.

From what I've read, Lakers fans don't like him a lot either, they are used to call him Lamar Odumb when he plays like crap.

What makes him ever more of a jackass is that his whole tough persona is completely fake. He's as fake as it comes. No wonder he loves being a Laker, I mean a Faker.

Vujacic is still my most hated Laker, but Odom might well be 2nd.  On the plus side, the last time I remember him  :P ing midgame was Game 4 of the Finals.  KG was of course nice enough to give it back with a couple minutes left :D

I hate the mac hine . Sasha is such a little pansy . Did anyone see him fall down like he was shot when he ran into a pick, and then as soon as he sees that the Lakers have the rebound he pops right up.  Then he makes a layup and he starts crying to the refs that he got fouled by Ray Allen like he is kobe..........

Oh Man, I just want to punch him in the face so bad !!!!!!!! >:(

Hopefully perk lays him on his ass when we see the Fakers and their weak bench in the finals

I can't stand him. Ever since that ridiculous tackle on Ray Allen I have loathed him with a passion. I've concluded he's an idiot.

The thing I hate about this particular Lakers team (coach included) is that they make me sooo indecisive. I just cannot make up my mind about who I dislike the most. It's ridiculous that some days Kobe cannot even crack my top 5 most hated on that team.
