Other than our main guys slowing down due to age, I thought, personnel-wise that our biggest needs were backup PG and backup power SF.  We got the backup PG now.  I'm really hoping that a decent sized backup SF will be bought out.  I think Daniels is a little on the smallish side for SF.  Surely TA is too (plus, I never really trust TA on the floor).  So I'm really hoping we can get some decent backup SF on a buyout so we can give Paul a little more rest.  Have no idea who those candidates might be, if any.

Can anyone think of an SF who might get bought out?

Larry Hughes I believe will get bought out.

On paper that would be awesome but that guy has to be one of the dumbest people on earth basketball-wise.

I don't think he adds anything other than what Marquis already does better.

I think we need someone with more size.
Yeah, that's how I see it too.

TMac.

He's staying with the Knicks to try to show he has something left and get a good pay check.

Jarvis Hayes would be perfect, but he's playing a lot of minutes and has a cheap contract, so I can't imagine him being bought out.  Too bad.  Simmons is getting no time at all.  Wonder if he's injured.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
I think Trenton Hassell may be available as well. Not sure if he's staying on the Nets roster with Bobby Simmons or not...They may not have enough players on the roster if they release one or both of them though...

Isn't he a guard?  Isn't he 6'5"?

Yeah, and the guy flat out can't shoot.  Check out his stats.  Daniels is better than him.

larry hughes, bobby simmons, jarvis hayes all leap to mind, for some additional wing help.

francisco elson, kurt thomas both could be buyout candidates - after watching rasheed's performance last night (among many others), another rotation caliber big - however useless offensively - is not at all unwelcome.

Good point but do the Knicks want to save dollars or showcase TMac?

McGrady is an expiring contract so he can play out with them and then his $21.1 million will be off the books.

A big PG so Nate can be the SG on offense.

Just  saw this on Mike Jame's most likely getting bought out... Would he be a pg you would like to bring in wdleehi, even though he is only 6'2.

I'd almost rather bring back Mark Blount than see a Mike James/Nate Robinson backcourt duo.

  Almost.
