Feels like we got fleeced as things strung along (Walker & a pick).

Not a good feeling ...

Oh well. The old guys have to sack up now and so does Big Baby.

So even if the C's beat the Lakers tonight, they're done?

I'm amazed you guys still come here. You're gonna tell me you're real fans so you'll "stick it out", but I feel like if a fairweather fan who only came for the sunny days said the same thing, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Nate, like it or not, is an improvement over Eddie. Does that mean he's the difference in a title? Maybe not. But don't fool yourself on Eddie being better. Not anymore, anyways.

Like someone else said, this is why I practically stay away from the Trade Rumors + Ideas forums like it's the plague. People make up all these trades which they'd wish would happen just cause Trade Checker says so, including Ray or what not. Then, when Danny doesn't do one of them, it's a clear sign that he doesn't have the balls to make a worthwhile trade, or something. I mean, for all we know, Ken Berger of CBSSports was right, and the Wizards were pressured into not dealing Caron to us, cause the Wizards fans abhorred the trade that sent Caron to the Mavs.

There weren't that many players we could've traded for that would've been an improvement over Ray this year and/or next. Either way, acquiring them would have required a boatload of money that Wyc probably felt he didn't really have. Pretty much, any trade had to have guaranteed a title, and Caron Butler + Jamison may have been the only one to come close to that by itself.

I have not wrote on celticsblog in a couple years but this made me request a passsword reset and start writing again. The pessimism being shown by some people is absolutely rediculous. The Nate Robinson acquisition will certainly help scoring off the bench. As much as I loved Eddie in his tenure here he is by no means as irreplaceable as some believe. I mean that is the reason the celts brought in Cassell and then Marbury in back-to-back years correct. Sure Eddie outplayed both of those guys and won the playoff minutes, but neither of those guys bring the offensive punch of the much younger Nate Robinson.
The other thing that is agitating me is the talk of rebuilding. The celts still have rondo and Perkins last time i checked and those guys are good enough to keep us competitive. Pierce has a game not based on athleticism and therefore will play solidly into his late 30's. And I'm not gonna give up on KG. Anythings possible! Baby. Lets sit back and let our celts finish the regular season off before we call for Danny's head.

I have a feeling not getting value for Ray as an expiring contract is going to haunt us down the line. I hope this attempt to hold on to a desperate hope for another championship out of this group doesn't last into next year, when I think most all of us will agree the window is closed. If it does, then we're looking at probably another 5+ year period of irrelevance.

If we really worked hard at it, we could be contending again as early as 2012 or 2013, if you ask me. I just hope letting the trade deadline slip by inactive isn't going to push us back.

Since we still have Ray and 4 other expiring deals in TA, Scal, Daniels and Shelden, expect Ray to be resigned for cheap and only one of TA or Daniels to be resigned and for nothing more than a 2 year deal.  Danny's only option going into next year is to have everyone not named Rondo or Perk roll off the payroll after 2 years.  (Well, he may make an exception for PP to extend him one year past KG to get his own "victory lap" retirement year).  At that point, he can wheel and deal to his heart's content for top FA's and some filler.

It's only been two years!  I ain't ready for a rebuild!

Ready or not, it's coming,  Two years from now it is going to Pierce and the seven dwarves once again.

We needed a back up point guard...We got a back up point guard... The front office had a goal and they completed that goal... I think that is fairly successful, no?

But some of our unlawful pundits here wanted to trade
Scal, Sheldon and Giddens to  LA for Kobe,
they can't understand why the deal wasn't made.

There are two sides to each trade.    Some of the best ones are the ones you don't make.....remember that!

My impression is that alot of people think DA's failure to sucker a team into trading a young potential superstar for no young talent in return, a nearly imposable task, is the basis for a failing grade.

Everyone has their own grading process, i suppose.

Lol, wait a sec. Getting Nate = inactive?
