When you don't have anything that teams want to go along with your expiring contract, teams take better offers for impact players.

It even happens to Boston teams.

This is why i don't get involved in those ridiculous trade threads, it leads to unreasonable expectations.

Although the Cavs did well this year, I now have the pleasure of listening to people talk about Lebron going to NY to pair up with another max contract guy.  Then the Knicks can sign a bunch of washed up veterans for minimum contracts (since they will be out of money).

I think this will be many people's first reaction, and part of me feels that way too.  But we really do have an amazing team.  We'll see how it all shakes out, but the C's could get it together and win a championship this year...that didn't change in the last 28 minutes.

The bench wasn't a problem when they were all healthy. Daniels and House worked well together, IMO. I don't know how Daniels and Nate will do. This might actually make the team worse.

Eddie hasn't played well enough to justify his bench role in a year and a half, and the few games he played with daniels pre thumb injury were no better.

exactly. the bench was alright, i liked the chemistry between house and sheed and daniels when healthy. now its almost like we are forgetting how bad the starters have been and nate robinson's 5'9 dunking abilitys going to put us over the top.

cavs got jamison, a legit 20 ppg scorer, on TOP of being on a 13 game winning streak..

and we were in a huge slump, and trade away one of our best scorers and hustle players.

i won't lie...i wanted to see ray, scal and giddens/walker traded for some younger pieces to help the future...but i guess we are hitched to 3 gimpy and old stars that are about out of gas for another 2.5 years. watching KG labor and get beat by guys is pretty painful....same with PP settling for long jumpers with no quickness to the hoop....and ray allen getting blown by on defense while his shot builds the Cs a brand new arena. i guess the reality is what it is.

the starters are the problem at this point. perk and the old 3 aren't getting it done

Best scorer? one what planet?

He's a volume three shooter who can't get his own shot and has only shoot 38% over the last year and a half...I love eddie, but if he was one of our "best scorers" we should just hang it up now.

Listen, there is nothing we can do short of trading for a top ten player that would significantly impact the chances of this team IF KG and PP don't improve.  So I understand not bringing in bad contracts to hurt us further in the future.

So IF KG and PP improve, bringing in Nate gets us closer.  IF they do not improve, then there was not much we could at the trading deadline except for giving up on this year entirely. 

And I am not ready to do that.

It's what I expected. I like the move. I'm sorry if other individuals were expecting some huge move but this was solid. Every year it's the same. Rumors fly, everyone expects blockbusters at the deadline and then a series of minor trades go down. Next year it will be the same. Don't believe the hype..

  Why are we hitched to them? Did Danny say he's not making any trades until 2012?

here come the 90's all over again if there was not a bigger deal made.  this team is going to get old fast, not have any room under the cap to improve, and be in a crappy draft position.  omg, how could he have not moved ray at this point?
