3 Hours to go in the Trade Deadline so I'll be updating any news here.  First things, first.  According to Amick, Kings are trying to get David Lee from New York in a McGrady deal.  I know a lot of you guys would be happy at this.  don't know if I would, but we'll see what happens.  We'd likely take back Jeffries or Curry

Why can't Danny get in on this?

Ray and House for Nate , Lee , Jefferies and filler

We start Daniels or TA and get KG insurance.

Lee is not going anywhere. Lee has to approve of any deal and he won't lose bird rights because of this.

Sacramento has cap room to sign him if they really want next year.

David Lee is going to lose his bird rights anyway once NY rescinds their rights to him this summer to make a run at one/two max contract free agents.

His bird rights shouldn't be a concern. I think Donnie Walsh would have been able to talk Lee + his agent out of those worries fairly easily if he tried.

Don't be surprised if they use him in a sign and trade this summer. The team losing the star (if anyone does) would get back talent and the Knicks could sweeten their offer by offering more money/years.

Good point. I didn't think of that. That is a good reason for Donnie Walsh to want to hang onto him.

David Lee could be very useful in getting someone like Chris Bosh out of Toronto.

The knicks are going to have oodles of cap room anyone...When they strike out on Lebron, wade, and Bosh the bird rights wont matter when resigning Lee.

They have oodles of cap room but the way the nba works the player's current team can offer more money and more years than other teams. LeBron can make more money signing with the Cavs than he can signing with the Knicks. If the Knicks do a sign and trade then LeBron can get the money the Cavs are able to offer him. Kind of like Lewis going to Orlando. The Knicks could offer David Lee and some other players to the Cavs in order to get the Cavs to help them sign James.
