Absolutely not! Danny is doing exactly what Wyc and co. are allowing him to do.....It's hard to fight with your hands tied.
Anyway it aint over till it's over. let's wait till 3:01.

Even if all Danny does "before" the deadline is add Nate, we will still be able to add 2 additional players "after" the deadline by waiting to see who gets bought out of their contracts. That's what Danny did the last 2 years with Sam I Am and Marbury and M.Moore. That seems to be Danny's way of doing things so far , and I expect he will do the same thing again this year.

Not at all...

Danny got us Banner 17 after a 22 year drought, got us to be contenders for three years straight (including this one), and has set us up in a great position with the Big Three all being expiring contracts for three years in a row...

Just does because Danny may not be able to get a deal done now for Ray or a big deal does not make me unhappy with him (especially when we can get a sign and trade for Ray over the summer).

Danny has done more then a better job and I don't know any GM ever who did what Danny did bringing the C's from the second to worst NBA record to champions and contenders for the past three years like he did.

I was talking about this trade deadline. Danny gives us 17th banner... Nobody can argue with that

how about being fair and waiting until after the deadline
Exactly.  This is like saying, "Has your day tomorrow been a sucessful one?"

1 title, a financial situation which believe it or not will be ok in 3 years and the ability to rebuild quickly (or reload, if he turns expirings into studs/high draft picks)... I like Danny Ainge

I also like this picture, is it real or photoshopped?

no not at all. Danny is not responsible for the condition of KG's knee. Injuries happen and we have little control over them. If KG was 100% healthy we would be the best team in the league hands down. Danny has done a good job.

Unhappy with Danny, yes! Ever since he failed to deliver that Scalabrine for Paul swap two seasons ago. It worked in the Trade Checker!

So i've been thinking over the past couple days.

I think Ainge's plan shifted over the past three seasons.

I think that when Rondo was drafted and KG and Ray acquired, the plan was try to win for two years, and then use the Ray expiring along with Rondo to make a trade to put them over the top: a kind of much better version of the T-Mac/Landry combo.

However, Rondo has definitely exceeded expectations, and is no longer a "really intriguing prospect" to couple with an expiring deal, like Beasly is in Miami in some of the rumors flying around.

Additionally, KG declined much more rapidly than predicted, such that there may not be an obvious "over the top" move for a championship run; this is especially true since we already won a title.

As such, when also considering finances, the best move (sadly) may be well be hope for some improvement in KG in the playoffs and hope for a couple lucky breaks, then reassess in the offseason with the 2012 offseason as the must-rebuild target.

I definitely agree with this. I think with the uncertainty around KG's knee, the owners probably don't want to take on contracts and be paying heavy luxury tax if we're not guaranteed to be a contender.

They'll probably ride out the next couple of seasons with the Big 3 and minor additions then try to assemble an elite team in an offseason like they did 3 years ago. Wyc did say they had a 5 year plan when they bought the team to build a contender. And they suceeded in doing that so I'm hoping they have another solid one in motion.

This is our last chance at getting a young star...

Next stop... ABYSS!!

I was unaware that the NBA was closing up shop in the next few years.

Even if your prediction comes true, and somehow one of the worse teams in the NBA within the next two years, it completely defeats your doom and gloom scenario, since we'd start getting great draft picks and thus, shots at great young stars.

Teams go in cycles. We were going absolutely nowhere fast after 2007, the "we're young and on the verge!" line of thinking was a joke. Outside of Big Al, who had a major knee injury, what player from that "thrilling young core" is an impact player in this league right now?

We made a trade, won a banner (which no one in their right mind expected to happen within the next 3-5 years if we had stuck with that core group we traded for KG+ ray) and at worst will return to what 20 other teams do every year, try to get younger and hope you hit a star in the draft.

Danny swung a crappy 5th pick into a title. I'll take that over big al and friends becoming a 45 win club over the past 3 years, even if we have to suffer through non-championship contention seasons for awhile.

I've dealt with that for over 12 years as a C's fan before 2008, I'm confident i can do it again.

It's not Danny's fault.  I saw Ray's expiring contract as our only real opportunity to open our window.  Unfortunately we had nothing to package with the expiring contract to make it worth it (like Landry landing Kevin Martin).   Ainge did his best.  I'm sure he tried his darndest to get something of value for the contract.  Just didn't have the chips to make it happen.

So we basically stand pat.  Doesn't really matter anyways, because if this is as good as KG gets this year, we are out in the first round regardless.  Would have been awesome to inject some youth into this team.

Ya, that's my take LAR, would have loved to get a young stud, but i just don't think given what we had to offer along with Ray's contract that it was realistic.
