  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
So the Knicks would decline Sergio's qualifying offer of $2.8 million for next season, correct?

Trying to piece together their salary number for next season now.

Are they still floating around lower $20 millions on the books for next year now?

if they decline sergio's offer, which they will, they will be around 19 to 20 million

Is that with all necessary cap holds?  Sounds a bit low to me but you could be right.

I literally cannot wait until they revamp the CBA and make these stupid trades that are based on contracts and not talent obsolete. I hate these trades. Takes the spirit right out.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
The Rockets came out of this one looking real good for the future.

A source close to the negotiations told ESPN NBA Insider Chad Ford that the Knicks' pick is top-1 protected in 2011 and top-5 protected in 2012.

Those picks, plus Jordan Hill. Nice work, Houston.

They really, really did.

The Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks have agreed to terms that will expand the Houston-Sacramento deal into a three-way trade that lands Tracy McGrady with the Knicks, according to NBA front-office sources.

The Knicks will acquire McGrady and Sergio Rodriguez from Sacramento, sources said.

The Rockets get Kevin Martin, Jordan Hill and Jared Jeffries from New York and will have the right to swap first-round picks with New York in 2011 as well as take on New York's 2012 first-round pick.

Sacramento obtains Houston's Carl Landry and Joey Dorsey and New York's Larry Hughes.

If that's accurate, it's a nice haul for the Rockets.

Ditto, very well done by the Rockets.
Basically McGrady and Landry for Kevin Martin, and two good first round picks.
Celtics fan for life.

the ****ty part is that Kings said they won't trade Martin for expirings and now they gave him for T-Mac, tell me who in the wirld will prefer T-Mac instead of Ray Allen, WHO

Carl Landry is better than any player we could give Sacramento.
Yeah, we just don't have any assets to pair with Ray's contract that interest other teams.

One of the reasons we heard so many different Rondo + Ray rumors this summer is that Rondo was our only young piece that other GMs wanted.
I'm left to wonder how valuable Ray + an unprotected 2013 first round draft pick would be.

Amazing haul for the Rockets. They managed to get the draft picks + Jordan Hill + and get Kevin Martin.

It's like they made two separate trades and traded the same asset both times.

How did they get so much? How did Sacramento not get more?

I think they played both the Kings and Knicks off each other to get the haul for both proposed trades.

It truly is incredible. Three cheers for the great Daryl Morey.

I have no understanding of why Sacramento didn't just complete the first trade + then try to flip McGrady to NY.

They could have gotten two more assets.

I wonder what Danny could have gotten for Jeffries. Obviously, McGrady was a big part of that deal so it would be less than what Houston got.

But would a Jeffries trade have made sense for Boston? Added some youth + prospects through the draft pick(s)?

You actually want Jared jeffries? You do realize the knicks had to give a 1st round draft pick to Houston so they would take him
