Giddens+House = Nate so we will 13 active. This year our bust we have been told by Wyc and Ainge. Gooden could give us some good minutes at Power Forward. Our rebounding and defense need  some help so i would sign Gooden(assuming he gets bought out.) Pay the tax wcy and sign him.

I'm sure the Celtics will be adding two players from the waiver wire. What two players I don't know.

No assurance Drew Gooden takes Clips buyout now with several teams -- Bulls, Bucks, Bobcats -- interested in trading for him, source says.

I've no doubt that Wyc would authorize the signing of at least one player, once all the buyouts happen.

I'd be surprised if Shelden isn't traded tomorrow, to help trim a little payroll. As a minimum-level contract, he can moved to any team in exchange for nothing more than a heavily protected draft pick.

I think it is almost a given that we take back at least one other player in this deal so we are still only going to have one spot open

Danny will wait until he sees who gets bought out or released and is availablebefore March 1st before using up that final spots

100 percent. Getting Drew Gooden makes BBD 100% expendable. He can rebound in bunches, defend the post better than BBD and Sheed, dunk off two feet and layup or hook shot the ball with a vertical above 2" so he doesn't get stuffed back to back...

My question would be "Is Ricky Davis worth looking at"
Can't stop, Rondo!

We need athleticism in the frontcourt. Adding Gooden after a possible buyout is probably the best we could do right now. Will Wyc sign off on it is the big question?

Of course he would.

He's signed off on buyout additions the past two years, he'll do it again.

I don't understand why the Clippers are buying Gooden out.

They need another big man and he can be a solid 27-32 minutes a night player for them.

Maybe Gooden doesnt want to play for a team going nowhere. At least the Celtics have a shot to go all the way.

I would love Gooden coming to the C's...I agree with everything you said. We need someone to come in a rebound, be active in the pos, he can hit the 10 foot jimmy...and he's of PF height.

I don't think Drew Gooden is good enough, or old enough, to demand a buyout for a team.

I also don't think he's desperate enough to avoid playing for a lottery team to make waves about it.

If Gooden did ask for a buyout, Mike Dunleavy should tell him it's not going to happen. Gooden would then move on and report to duty and in a week or so he'll be grand with it.

Drew Gooden should stay in LA. He'll get more minutes, more touches and more shot attempts there.

It's the best chance he has a considerable payday on his next contract.

Gooden should realize he's walked into a very good situation for himself.

Signed a 1 year, $4.5 million contract 7/30/09 Free agent: Summer 2010.

Clippers need someone to replace Camby sure. I think he signed with Dallas cause he wanted to play with a contender.

I thought Gooden signed with Dallas because nobody was willing to offer him significantly more.

Not on a per annum basis and not through a longer contract.

There wasn't much interest in Gooden last summer. That's why he stayed on the board for close to a full month. Teams weren't making good offers for him and Dallas only went after him because they lost out on every other big man target while waiting to see if Orlando matched the qualifying offer for Gortat.

-----------------------------------------------------

I'm not disagreeing with you about the buyout. Several media outlets are reporting it. It looks like it will happen.

I just can't understand why the Clippers are considering doing it. Gooden has more value to them as a player than the money they'd save in a buyout.
