The Cleveland Cavaliers have made significant progress in trade discussions with the Washington Wizards, offering Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Jamario Moon and a No. 1 draft pick for Antawn Jamison and Mike James, sources told Yahoo! Sports Some league sources believe this is a deal that is preferable to some members of the Cavaliers’ management and coaching staffs over Amar’e Stoudemire(notes), but Cleveland still hasn’t staffs over made a decision on which trade to ultimately make. Other trade osals that intrigue the Cavs are still emerging on the landscape, but the focus now is on son or Stoudemire hington is still trying to squeeze possibly another pick or young player out of the Cavs, but ces say it’s possible a deal could get done without J.J. Hickson(notes). As it stands, both sides ve they have the framework of a workable deal

I Would do this deal if I was Danny

!) We can offer the same package with probbably a higher draft pick
2) We could still offer BBD who would help filling Jamison's loss for cheap
3) The wiz hate the Cav, why help them get a championship possibly

It would be so great if the Cavs missed out on Jamison and Stoudamire and ended up with Murphy. The C's get Jamison as KG insurance.

I know Jamison makes a lot of money , but it would expire the same year as KG so we would still have a ton of cap space in 2012. This is the C's last chance for a title with this group, go for it Danny!

Is there not a way to do this trade without Jamario Moon?

I'd rather give up another late first round pick than a valuable reserve. Especially since the Cavs don't have much depth on the wing.

The Wizards probably want a low cost wing to replace Butler if Howard doesn't pan out.

Washington hurt their leverage in Jamison trade talks by giving up Caron Butler. It left them with a limited market and the prospective acquiring teams are well aware of that.

Cleveland didn't want to give up Hickson for Jamison prior to the Butler trade but I imagine they're even more reluctant to do so now.

Anyway, it's still a very good trade for Washington. The cap space is the fundamental requirement and the draft pick is an added bonus.

i think the cavs envision a bench of west, gibson, hickson, varajo, james, powe and big Z once he gets bought out...they will start williams, parker, jamison, LBJ and shaq....very good team right there

Wings -- Mike Miller + Josh Howard + Nick Young + Dominic McGuire

I want to see the Wizards give Nick Young 30+ minutes a night now that they've committed to rebuilding (well, once, they've traded Jamison). I don't see much playing time available for another wing beyond their main three players, and, whatever is left should go to Dominic McGuire who is a solid prospect himself.

I don't think the Wizards need another wing. If they wanted one, I think they'd be better off with Danny Green. A good second round pick who can become a rotation caliber player who is locked down on a minimal contract for another season past this one. I think that would be more valuable for Washington.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
if the wizards do not get hickson in a deal with the cavs they are complete morons...  there is NO way you make that deal without getting that guy in return.

do the wizards even care if anyone shows up at their arena after this thursday?  this sounds too stupid to be true, but then again this is the NBA...

I don't think Danny wants Jamison at all, his contract sucks. Caron was who he wanted, and getting him was what made Jamison tolerable.

That's pretty much what I'd assume, too.

Jamison can't guard KG. He is good player, but overrated in my book. He puts up big numbers on bad teams. Anyways, what about Miller? Is he available?

Cavs get Jamison and solidify themselves as the best team in the league...fantastic.

So uh...at least we'll have the slam dunk champion on our team, right?

Jamison is complete garbage.

Ditto Murphy.

Ditto Maggette.

All posturing by Cleveland, IMO.

I'd expect Amare to the Cavs as soon as both teams realize they don't actually have a better offer.
