We should definitely try to sign Gooden if we trade BBD.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
We missed out on Joe Smith and Drew Gooden last year for Mikki Moore. Lets not make the same mistake again.

If Gooden comes cheap I think he'd be a worthwhile rental for this season. I like his rebounding, which has been a problem for us, and he has decent height compared with Davis and Shelden.

I agree he could be a flake, but there's not much risk bringing him in until the end of the season and then re-evaluating his worth.

If Gooden isn't an option, what about getting Kurt Thomas cheap?

I don't think either player, Kurt Thomas or Drew Gooden, is an upgrade over Rasheed Wallace or Glen Davis.

Kurt Thomas is another undersized slow footed center while Drew Gooden is a poor defender with inefficient scoring potential.

So I don't have much interest in either one of them.

I think Drew's a slightly better 4 than Davis.  His superior rebounding ability and length are I think more advantageous in a limited role than Baby's floor game.
