Anybody else think that David Lee might be too low?

Not really.  His numbers took a leap once D'Antoni showed up.

I just look at some of the names ahead of him on the list and have to disagree with it.

Kevin Martin (30): My favorite possibly available trade piece -- great contract, proven scorer, high hoops IQ, someone who'd thrive on a veteran team that protected him defensively and ran plays for him. Right now he's playing on a glorified pickup team with Tyreke Evans, who thinks "point guard" means "I get to dribble over midcourt." Not gonna fly. Someone like Martin is a luxury. You pamper him. You set him screens. You hook him up on slash-and-kicks. You go to him after games and say, "Hey, what's the best place to deliver the ball for you -- chest high and a little to the right?" He could absolutely be a contender's No. 1 scoring option like Reggie Miller or Rip Hamilton once upon a time. Stay tuned.

Gee, what veteran team that could protect him defensively could Simmons be referring to?   ::)

I have to agree with Simmons' comments in the "Gerald Wallace" portion of the column. (However, might be a bit too high due to injury concerns)

Charlotte's gonna be a bigtime headache in the first round of the playoffs and I certainly don't want the Celtics to have to deal with them.

He's also still a bad defender.

I always love that column. But i think Rose is too high right now. Would Utah or Portland swap Roy/Williams straight up for Rose? Doubt it. There's still some uncertainty with him.

I think Simmons main thing there was price: Rose makes something like a third of Roy and Williams. But I agree wit you over all: Rose doesn't impress me as much as he does others. I would take Roy and Williams over him right now. Not even close.

Would you trade him for Gay or Mayo?

I'd take Mayo or Gay over Lee.  Chris Kaman puts up 20 and 10 too, but doesn't mean he's that good.  David Lee is not that great.

Depends, Gay probably not because both are looking to get paid right now. A lot would depend on the team's remaining personal though.

Mayo is still cost controlled.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious he's thinking green on that one.

I wouldn't trade Rudy Gay for David Lee.

OJ Mayo? Hmm, depends. OJ Mayo the shooting guard? Yeah, I'd make that trade. OJ Mayo the point guard? No way.

Yeah, Mayo definitely needs to play the 2.
