Speaking of really quiet. The Pick A Player Over/Under Points Game has been really quiet lately and could use more players!

You earn TPs just for being a new player and could earn loads of them if you win or come in second. You could even get a TP for coming in last.

PAPOUG is the best game ever!

iT'S quiet because we have already agreed to a trade with the Kings and we are waiting until the game is over tonight or tomorrow to break the news....thay is my take anyways.....I am just surpirised it has not leaked yet!
Since you are a predicter of the future will Ray get bought out after the trade goes through ;-) ? But seriously, if that happens do you guys think Sacto buys him out?
That's what they are discussing right now has we speak and that's what the hold up is......Yes in thirty days Ray will be wearing green again!
If what you say ends up being true I will give you 100 tommy points plus one everytime I comment on a post of yours in perpetuity.
Might as well start giving them to me now....:-D if it is not Martin and Nocioni it will be Iggy and D-bear and a Ray buyout!!!!

Nice one Matt ... I was trying to figure out ways to get ads to other threads without violating the off-topic rule ... sweet segue'! Speaking of segues and quiet threads, if someone were to use RED, the thread might not be so quiet, say like this:

600 people online and only NINE PLAYERS??? Come ON people!! It's EASY, fun, and takes very little time ... try it, it's addicting!! (In a GOOD way). With just 12 people playing you could stand to win 24 TP's A DAY!!! Just pick a player that's playing tonight who you think will score above their average ... that's IT!!! TRY IT!!!!!!   ;)

There is not an either or situation, I am giving you tps for your Kevin Martin prediction, if we get Iggy and Dalembert, I award you no Tommy Points and may god have mercy on your soul.

Despite all the talk of Martin, Iggy, Butler and others, I have yet to make up my mind as to whether I think any trade for Ray will be good.   I know the Martin certainty on this thread is in fun, but I still rest on the notion that KG is all that matters. PP will be his old self, Ray will come back to form, but will KG be a shell of himself or the real ticket?  If KG is back, then who is really better than Ray Allen for this team?

Please -- someone convince me that Ray for Martin and Nocioni puts the C's in better position to win.  I know that without KG in top form that Martin/Nocioni doesn't do it, but presuming KG is 90% or better of his 2008 self, is Martin/Noc better than Ray with this team?  Not a rhetorical  question -- convince me. Please.

Here's a thought. Maybe the better question is whether Martin/Nocioni are worse than having Ray? I think you could fairly argue that Martin/Nocioni doesn't make the team better than Ray. But at the same time, you could argue that Martin/Nocioni doesn't make the team worse than with Ray. And if that's true right now, then it makes sense to do the deal because Martin should be an improvement over Ray going forward.

That said, I love Ray and don't want to see him go. If I knew Boston would win this year with Ray (and maybe Danny feels that way), I'd keep him and worry about the future later. But if I saw the title as being just out of reach, I'd probably pull the trigger, hope a guy like Martin could make an immediate impact towards a title this year and then continue to build hope and keep the train rolling going forward...

some disembodied voice on weei mentioned that the difference in the orlando game was KG vs rashard lewis. last few years we've owned that match up, now orlando exploits the matchup.

this got me thinking and i've decided the deal i want is for hinrich and deng.

deng is a superior defender who at 6'9" would have little trouble matching up against lewis. having deng on the floor would take a lot of pressure of KG who would no longer be our only real option to guard those quick forwards like lewis, odom and josh smith. also hinrich's ability to guard 3 positions would be a huge asset.
doc could throw rondo, hinrich, deng, pierce and KG or perk on the floor and shut down just about any run.

i think this move keeps us in title contention this year and adds solid young talent to an aging roster.

If Ray and Martin do not play tonight, Evantime can start throwing TPs your way.

But... my bet is that this trade won't happen unless Sac somehow gets sweeteners with draft picks and some young talent (BBD doesn't seem enough to me).  Their roster is pretty ugly right now and I can't see any big FA choosing to go there over some of the other FA players this off-season.  If I were Petrie, I might rather keep Martin as a decent piece and pray for lottery luck.

too bad Chicago isn't going to trade Luol Deng unless they get back somebody of similar talent (e.g. Al Jefferson)

just saw espn headline "bulls want jefferson for deng"
there goes my idea that you could get hinrich and deng for expirings.

maybe just maybe we could pull it off if we took back more salary
and if glen davis puts up an monster game tonight.
ray, davis, house for hinrich and deng.
chicago would instantly be a FA player this summer and davis would add some low post presence to this years squad (a homeless, sightless, dyslexic mans version of big al).

boston would be deeper, better defensively and financially hamstrung. (though a deep benched contender for the duration of KG's contract.)
