That doesn't work under the cap. Williams is older and I wouldn't be shocked if Rondo was better in a few years. Is Williams that much better than Rondo that you would throw in Ray?
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Is that Tony or Ray?  In any case, I wouldn't trade Rondo straight up for Deron Williams.  I think Rondo has a chance to  end up being the better player.

What's the incentive for either team?

(And Williams is not 2x the PG that Rondo is)

Deron is not 2 times better than Rondo.  Deron is the better shooter but Rondo is the better defender and argubly, passer and ballhandler.

I wouldn't trade Rondo straight up for him.

Wow, I would make this straight up trade for sure but there is no way this is even brought to the table by either team.

Those who think RR is better I think would be shocked to see what a difference a PG who can shoot would make to floor spacing and opponents defensive rotations.

Please read our posts more carefully.  I did not say Rondo was better, I said he has a chance to be better.  I think most that responded in this thread said the same thing.

Clarification noted.  I still make this trade in a second even if RR has a chance to be better sometime in the future because I want to win now and Williams is still going to be very very good in the future also.

For the record, I don' think RR will ever be better than Williams.  Maybe as good but I even doubt that.

Doesn't this go in Trade Ideas + Rumors?

And yeah, I say no, and I think both teams would say no.

Let's also not forget that Rondo's extension is team friendly and is most likely going to look like a bargain for years to come.

Well, until next season, when guys like Amare are going to be signing for $6 million a year ;)
