Here's the latest from ESPN the Magazine's Ric Bucher: "Michael Beasley's collegiate career and NBA stats would suggest an up-and-coming star; combined with his rookie contract in these harsh economic times, all that should make him irresistible to any team looking to move an established, expensive star for a less-expensive future one. But the latest evidence that an overwhelming majority of the league's decision-makers see him as more flash than substance is reflected in a proposed three-way trade whose principle parts were 76ers F Andre Iguodala, Suns F Amare Stoudemire and the Heat's Beasley.

"While other pieces would've had to be included, the trade essentially would've sent Beasley to Philadelphia, Iguodala to Phoenix and Stoudemire to Miami. The deal broke down, sources say, because Philadelphia wasn't overwhelmed by the prospect of rebuilding around Beasley.

Beasley is a much better prospect than Hickson in my opinion. I know he has had a few issues off the court, but if Philly turned down this deal, I dont see why they would do a 3 way with Cleveland for Hickson.

Ah - the question of the day - who is the better prospect? Beasley or Hickson?

Both are great prospects, but that's what they are, prospects.  I am not sure either of them will round into an all star player.

Seems like Philly is getting cold feet with Iggy.

As they rightfully should.  I mentioned in another post yesterday that Philly should probably wait another year before seriously considering moving Iggy.  They shouldn't feel the need to have to move him by Thursday.

Agreed.  They need to build around somebody and the guy definitely has talent.  I think they were hoping to get blown away by an offer and that isn't happening

Beasley is sooo much better than Hickson.  There shouldn't even be any discussion about that whatsoever.

On the other hand, you can't really blame Philly for not wanting to trade Iggy for Beasley.  They already have a 3/4 who does the same things as Beasley in Thaddeus Young; he may not be as good as Beasley or have the same potential, but he's still pretty good and young.  If they traded Iggy for Beasley they would become even more unbalanced as a team than they already are.

Hearing Iggy's name on the market terrifies me. He seems like the protoype for the second option on a team with a super-duperstar like LBJ or Wade.

A sad look into my own life, I woke up literally horrified because I dreamt that AI2 got dealt to the Cavs.

TP.
I wish there was a way we could get him... He's young and a bit immature, but the talent is definitely there.
