If a deal for Martin + Nocioni for Ray was to go down it would have to be after this game tomorrow. Sacramento doesnt want Martin playing against them in his first game with the C's.
I still think by  the deadline Martin + Nocioni will be on the C's .

Actually, I have a feeling that this deal will happen. I don't know if the Kings don't want to do it because of the game against us, I don't see why they wouldn't do it because of that since both teams would be penalized because they would have to integrate a new player in their lineup. Sure, it would be strange to see Martin play against them but that's not something dramatic either!

Plus, the Kings are not competing for the playoffs, so one more loss doesn't "kill" them.

Anyway, do you think there is a good chance Ray gets bought out and re-signs with us if this trade happened? I don't see the Kings using Ray in their rotation anyway, it would be better for them to give more playing time to a young player since they know Ray won't stay with them after this summer if he was not to be bought out.

it's possible.  Also possible that teams have a lot of potential deals on hold and they are waiting to see who draws first blood.  If Cavs land Amare, that could change things for the Sixers.   If Knicks take T-Mac's contract, that could change things as well.   When a trade goes down, it's going to create a domino effect.

More likely the Kings are in no rush.  Why not wait till the deadline and see if they could get an Al Jefferson type offer.

yea I definitely see Ray being bought out . It would be pointless to keep him, he is not going to resign. Plus they would be saving more money buying him out, maybe 1 mil?

Thats why I love this trade, you trade Ray to a bad team, get young all-star caliber talent back and then Ray gets a month of rest and comes back rejuvenated for the Playoffs. I bet Ray would gladly accept a 6th man role if it makes us stronger

Exactly.

Push things as close to the deadline as you can.  Wait for the better deals to rise to the top.  No need to rush things.

That's why I really think you won't see the C's doing anything until Wednesday or Thursday.

I hope so. Alot of people are really underestimating what Noc brings to the table. Sure his contract is bad but hes the hard nose athletic swingman who could also play the 4, similar to Posey. Not to mention we get the perfect replacement for Ray. Then put together a package of t.allen/house and bbd for a backup point or big and we could possibly contend for this year if the team somehow can get a chemistry in limited time and of course stay healthy

Rondo. Dj
Martin. T.Allen
Pierce.          Daniels/Noc
KG.      Noc
Perk. Sheed

Or maybe even go after nate robinson after. Idk why but after watching that special on him and webb, i began to appreciate his enthusiasm for the game. His enthusiasm may be what we need to get us going. We seem bored out there the past few months. A second unit of him, daniels, noc, sheed, and the possibility of ray being bought out is a really good 2nd unit.

Get it done Danny!

Rejuvenation? I always though people got older, not younger, by the mere passage of time. Lets rejuvenate Toine, PJ Brown, and Hondo; then we will get someplace.
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine

so a month off wouldn't do Ray good? He is playing 40 mins in half the games. I am not expecting him to come back as Ray in his prime, but rest can't hurt. He could get his legs back a little which would help his shot .

No, I think it has to do with both parties waiting to see if there is a better deal to be made. I think that this is the best realistic deal that we have left on the table though. Martin brings a young scorer and Nocioni brings some nastiness defensively with a little size. I'd pull this trigger.
