Just reading this article from the Globe about how Rivers and Brown have been talking about a fit in a trade. It seems to me a prelude to a deal.

http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/64701/20100214/rivers_brown_have_discussed_boston_charlotte_deal/#

What could go down, and is the interest in Rasheed Wallace genuine? I can't see him being shipped out without a true center coming back. Could the deal be Sheed and Eddie for Augustin or Muhommed? The latter has been playing well, but perhaps Wallace is a better fit in contrast to Chandler and Diop.

I'd rather keep Rasheed Wallace and play Eddie House than take on Nazr Mohammed to get DJ Augustin.

Chandler and DJ

for

Rasheed, Baby, Scal and JR

I'm guessing that Rasheed and Baby have fell out of favor with the vets.

So the Celtics trade Rasheed Wallace to Charlotte for Raymond Felton and Stephen Graham

And then simultaneously announcing a trade with Washington where Washington sends Boston Antawn Jamison and Mike Miller for Ray Allen and JR Giddens

Then Ray Allen is bought out by Washington and Ray resigns with Boston in 30 days and our new playoff roster will be

Rondo/Felton/House
Ray Allen/Miller/Tony Allen
Pierce/Daniels/Walker
KG/Jamison/Scal/Williams
Perk/Davis

I could live with that team going to the playoffs to win it all
Pick 2 Knicks

PG: George Hill, Ty Lawson
SG: Ray Allen, Anthony Parker, Quentin Richardson
SF: Grant Hill, Matt Barnes, D
PF: Zach Randolph, Kenyon Martin, Jon Brockman, Dante Cunningham
C:  Nene Hilario,   Own rights: Nikola Pekovic IR: Kyle Weaver

I think you're alone on that one.  Perk and KG as the only height on the team?  We'd get killed on the boards worse than we do now and as soon as Perk gets 2 fouls in a game, we're done.

You think replacing Rasheed with Jamison will result in LESS rebounds a game for this team

I don't see that at all

Jamison is averaging more rebounds per 36 minutes than Wallace and a higher rebound percentage than Wallace

Gotta go with Plamb on this one:-)

BTW, why would the Bobcats trade away Felton????  That would leave them with DJ as their only pure point, and he has said that he wants out and Larry has NO confidence in him anyways.

Felton is an unrestricted free agent at year's end

Charlotte is less than two months away from being sold

Larry Brown is already lobbying for another chance in Philly

Augustin is still Bobcat property for two more years after this

And if Michael Jordan doesn't buy the Bobcats, he, Brown and many players will be gone

It might be smarter long term to get something for Felton than to trade Augustin and then not resign Felton and have no PGs, especially if that's what the new owners want

As much as I would love to get rid of Rasheed Wallace and his three year contract, I read another article on the same website, mentioning Ainge isn't going to trade Wallace.

http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/64671/20100213/celtics_wont_trade_rasheed/

I guess we should take that with a grain of salt, though.  GM's have a tendency of saying things opposite of what they mean. ;] Who knows, maybe Rasheed Wallace will come in handy in the playoffs..

the only ways I would trade with CHA is if we make another move to get front court help or we somehow get CHA to give up Chandler in the deal.

trading Baby or Sheed for Augustin in isolation would be a horrible move IMO. whether Nazr is included or not...

So, to repeat -- who plays center once Perk picks up 2 quick ones?  BBD at 6' 8 with no lift or a chronically injured KG who's better suited to play PF?   BBD might work on Cle with Shaq but Howard is showing enough game around the basket that he'll just go over BBD for both baskets and, as usual, rebounds.  Jamison won't help guarding centers.

  • Rondo = Good
i dont think we make any trades

i think we'll be forced to just make a minor trade or two for bench guys.  then danny will add another guy or two from the waiver wire.  barring a major turnaround in attitude, focus, and health, we will be a huge longshot to make the ECF, especially if the Cavs get better.

You are not my GM. I could live with the trade...Until the playoff when we play the Magic in the second round and The Cavs in the third and Perk gets into follow trouble and Howard and Shaq just literally dump all over Big Baby...Seriously? We need a true center. Not a shooting guard with the body of a lineman.

With that being said I do like your trades but we still need a big man off the bench... Plus, Id rather trade Baby for Augstine and keep sheed anyway. But lets use your two trades anyway. So how about...

Sheed for Felton and Graham

Ray and JR for Jamison and Miller

Well wait a second... I dont think either team does either of these trades anyway.

Then something like T.a, Scal and Baby for Marcus Camby

Rondo/Felton/House
Ray Allen/Miller
Pierce/ Daniels/ Walker
KG/Jamison/Williams
Perk/Camby

Thats a team I would much better live with.
