One team insider told me that the Wizards would have to eventually consider breaking up the foursome of Andray Blatche, Nick Young, Dominic McGuire and JaVale McGee And, I heard from two sources that the Wizards reached out to the Charlotte Bobcats offering Blatche for point guard D.J. Augustin. That conversation didn't go very far, bu t is interesting to see where the Wizards go from here parently Antawn Jamison isn't the only Wizard left who might be traded.

Why wouldn't the Bobcats do this trade? I think Blatch could be a very good player in. A few years. If Danny deals with Washington, hopefully he gets some of their young talent along with Jamison.

I love Blatche. Serious size, serious talent, still locked in cheap, and he's surprisingly young. If I were Danny I'd be trying real hard to do a 3 way here, hoping that Larry Brown prefers Baby, and do Baby to Cats, Augustin to Wiz, and Blatche here. He provides a dynamic we don't have...that we've never really had.

it's true he's got issues. but right now we have a very heady, but un-dynamic un-explosive team. I think it's' really valuable to mix in some explosiveness and wild card element. at some point, athleticism matters and veteran-like know-how (without the talent to make much use of it) is less valuable than a guy who can do anything, but only knows how to use it say 75% of the time. We have plenty of the former, and not enough of the latter. Besides, he's 23. 23! buy low baby.

I can understand the level of optimism regarding Andray Blatche 2 or 3 years ago but the lad has been 20-24mpg player for three years now and shown negligible improvement. He has also had every opportunity to start last season with Haywood out but wasn't up to the job.

Blatche still makes the same idiotic mistakes offensively + defensively and shows no understanding of how to, or improvement in, utilizing his skill-set.

Why are we still talking about him as an exciting prospect?

when i think of talented guys with low bball IQs, i immediately think of marcus banks and gerald green. yeah, not good ocmpany. blatche definitely has talent, but yeah, he seems to just not get it on the court. unless we're giving up very little, i want no piece of that.

javale mcgee is the player youd want to role the dice with if youre gonna take on one of their young bigs.  He's very raw buts already shown the desire to work hard, and he a nice looking jumper.

I think it would take a lot to pry these guys away from the Wiz though bc after all theyre rebuilding and would most likely want to see what these guys have once people like Jamison are gone.  If anything theyd want to pry young talent away from us, which Im sure isnt exactly blowing them away since they already traded Bill Walker to us and no ones wanted JR Giddens for some time now.

Maybe it's because I'm fan and not a coach, but i'd rather have players that get 75% out of their 95 level talent than a player that gets 100% of their 60 level talent. Obviously player B is less frustrating and is a better story, but player just has a bigger impact. It's not "fair," and isn't a good story, but oh well, some people are just better.

Edit: this of course is assuming the player in question is being paid appropriately. If a player is locked into being overpaid based on potential, then it obviously changes the equation. But a guy like Blatche is only on the books for 3-4 million this year and next, it's not like he's a Dalembert case.
