Miller and Jamison?

What about Mike Miller? He would a pretty solid addition. 6'8'' long/athletic, shoots the three much better than Butler ever has. Miller and Jamison for Ray Allen?

I would only trade Ray for those 2 if...

They include Andre Blatche     AND/OR
They agree to buyout Ray


Otherwise this trade makes no sense. Jamison is great, but his contract is huge for his age obviously. And Miller is a great shooter, but he's a better role player off the bench than a starter on a championship contending team. If we got Ray back then he could be our shooting wing as well as rebounder for the 2nd unit. Include Blatche in that deal, and you've got a better option over BBD so he then can be traded elsewhere as well.

I agree.   We only do this if Ray get's bought out and comes back.   Our bench would be deeper with this trade but our starting 5 wouldn't be as good I think.   I would be fine if we did this and then traded Davis for a legit point guard off the bench.

I don't understand why the team doesn't target Miller straight up for Scal, Eddie, JR, Walker and a pick. The Cs can separately take Boykins for a trade exception in order to even out the numbers a bit.

The second unit could really use a scorer like Miller, and there's not reason to trade Ray Allen for him.

I have no interest in Jamison.

Ownership is probably cringing at the thought of tying up $64 mil in 5 frontcourt players (4 over 30) for next year, especially with the prospect of Perk getting a raise for 2012.

I think that trade + a resigned Ray would make us the favorites for the 2010 title though.

make no mistake...the cavs want jamison. LBJ wants him somehow...with or without amare. i expect the cavs are talking up going amare to drive the panic up with the wiz to cheapen jamison. i believe the cavs want to trade big Z and wally's contract for jamison...this way they keep hickson

Not only that, but the trade makes the Wiz worse now, bettering their chances at landing John Wall  ;).

In fairness, though, the Wiz lose the option of including Miller in a S&T next summer (that is assuming that some team might want to throw more than the MLE at him).

If the Wiz were willing, I'd be all over that.  Miller dramatically improves three of our biggest weaknesses: rebounding, 3-pt shooting and over-reliance on the declining Ray Allen.

Are there any other instances of expiring for expiring swaps though?  Doesn't seem too common.
