Yuck, the trade with Butler made getting Jamison's contract bearable. I wanted Jamison years ago when we traded Antoine Walker to Dallas (and we somehow ended up with freakin' Raef), but he is definitely not the young star Danny covets. Mike Miller is interesting, but we could just give him the MLE this summer...the Kevin Martin deal makes much more sense...

Yeah, and in Chris Mannix we trust, Martin + Nocioni is very possible....

I would only trade Ray for those 2 if...

They include Andre Blatche     AND/OR
They agree to buyout Ray

Otherwise this trade makes no sense. Jamison is great, but his contract is huge for his age obviously. And Miller is a great shooter, but he's a better role player off the bench than a starter on a championship contending team. If we got Ray back then he could be our shooting wing as well as rebounder for the 2nd unit. Include Blatche in that deal, and you've got a better option over BBD so he then can be traded elsewhere as well.

I don't know...Miller and Jamison for Ray seems like a borderline steal of a trade for us. I'd take it in a heartbeat. I love Ray Ray as much as the next guy, but I think we're overvaluing his trade value here.

I don't understand why the team doesn't target Miller straight up for Scal, Eddie, JR, Walker and a pick. The Cs can separately take Boykins for a trade exception in order to even out the numbers a bit.

The second unit could really use a scorer like Miller, and there's not reason to trade Ray Allen for him.

I have no interest in Jamison.

May I ask why? We need another legit power forward to spell KG in the case of another injury or stint on the DL. Not to mention a front-court of Jamison, KG, Sheed and Perk would be sick!

Martin is a great young player who could be a nice number 2 option, and his length could be useful in our defense (which will hide a lot of his flaws like it does for Ray.)

Nocioni is a pretty cool player with nice value, but his contract is very similar to the one that we didn't want to give to Posey. Perhaps we didn't take the Posey deal so that we wouldn't be overwhelmed when moves like this have to be made... either way it's better than absorbing Jamison's CRAP contract.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Mike Miller is an expiring, but not enough that we get under the cap for free agency. BUT his bird rights would allow us to go over the cap to keep him. His Mike Miller the shooting guard that you want to be in the immediate future for this team?

Antawn Jamison is a quality 4/3 in this league... and he's getting paid like one for the next three years. (11.6, 13.3, and 15 Mil.) This is too much money IMO to be taking on for a 6th or 7th man. Especially since he's a borderline ball-hog, a mediocre rebounder, and a poor defender. I think this guy is a minus financially, and defensively, and that outweighs his offensive production.

----------------------------------------------------------------

So if I'm Danny i like the younger guard and the bad contract worth 19 MIL, over the 29 year old guard and the bad contract worth 40 MiL.

It would be sick, the only problem is that IF we did this our off-season would look like this...

Pierce- 21+mil
Garnett- 18+mil
Jamison- 13+mil
Rondo- 9+mil
Wallace- 6+mil
Perkins- 4+mil

It kind of puts a stranglehold on us financially, and locks up the wrong player long term, if Jamison was the expiring and Miller was on a three year deal i'd agree with it being SICK.

I agree with the OP "i have no interest in Jamison"

i would really like this deal if ray allen was going to get bought out and return to the Cs....that gives you jamison backing up PP, miller backing up ray or vice versa and daniels the back up PG...that is a GOOD bench

I don't like the idea of Jamison playing SF.

If Ray would be brought back after 30 days I'd be all for it, if ownership wants to go all in for this year....

Jamison's not too bad at SF from what I've seen.  I think he'd fare better than Scal there.  Certainly not ideal, but if we were looking to get him minutes, I think it would be a viable option.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

I feel like if Danny doesnt pull the deal Ray and Baby for Jamison, Miller, and James he should be emitted into a mental institution...

Miller and James have 16 mil coming off the books anyway... We rid ourselves of Baby's 3 mil.. We add Jamison who is a bargain at 13 mil for the type of player he is and what he brings to the team. Miller can create offense for the bench, Jamison gives us an offensive option as good as Ray (slightly less shooting wise)...It would add to our rebounding greatly...I just think this should be a no brainer deal.

Rondo/Daniels/James
Pierce/Allen/house
Jamison/Miller
KG/Scal/Williams
Perk/Sheed

We can use a lineup on rondo, miller, pierce, jamison, perk...many different lineups with this squad...i love this trade. If this happens i could see scal and ta being shipped for nate robinson or a big as well...Not that we need that but its a possibility.

I'm not a fan of Jamison playing small forward either. Five or six years ago? Sure. But not today.

I am perfectly happy playing Jamison at power forward alongside Kevin Garnett at center though. I'd rather have Perkins starting at center to begin games. Then use that pairing at other junctures in the game.
