If the Celtics acquired Biedrins he would be the starter and Perkins would be the backup.

I would rather start Perkins. I don't like Biedrins' defensive play.

Really?? Biedrins is all about defense. I guess he has a little bit of the Camby thing going on with big defensive stats, but I think he plays better post defense than Camby. I was under the impression that Biedrins was primarily a defensive player who wasn't horrible at offense.

Biedrins has the reputation of a defensive player but I don't think he is one.

I think the main reason he got that reputation is because of his limited offensive game + excellent rebounding numbers (who like Camby doesn't box out).

I don't like Camby's defense and haven't for quite a long time ... but I think Camby is vastly superior defender than Biedrins.

(and a blub in RealGM suggests that they are) I would prefer Ray for Ellis and Biedrins to the rumored deal with Washington for Butler and Jamison.

I wouldn't do this trade for the simple fact that Biendrins (Center) makes Rondo look like Calvin Murphy at the FT line.

Just bring in Ellis.

Ellis is a non-floor spacer and Biedrins is a great rebounder who does not defend well enough - he is criminally underused in GS as Don Nelson is trying to get his butt fired the way he is running the team.

Butler is still young and provides legitimate starting 2-guard value ... I am not sure he can live without needing the ball - but we know Monta Ellis cannot ... Jamison is a pro's pro - not a superstar but maybe the definitive quality second banana
