Celtics get: Marcus Camby and Baron Davis
Clippers get: Ray Allen and Eddy House
By adding Camby, we resolve our rebounding issues and strengthen our interior defense. Davis can start at the 2 spot, takeover the point guard responsibilities when Rondo is on the bench, and be our go to guy in the 4th quarter (actually, 3rd quarter go to guy...haha). Davis can also help provide scoring when the second team is on the floor.
Now for the Clippers; it is obvious that they are the losers of this trade. They basically give up their best player and rebounder/shot blocker for $21+ mil in expiring contracts. If this were the only trade the Clippers made, then this trade WOULD NEVER HAPPEN!!! That is why I think they should make one more trade. View below:
Clippers get: Chris Bosh
Toronto gets: Chris Kaman, Steve Novak, and Seb Telfair
By making this trade, the Clippers would have the best bait to lure Lebron James to LA, signing Lebron and Bosh to max deals. With all of these trades, the Clips would still be able to keep all of their young talent (Gordon, Griffin, Jordan, and Thornton). The team is already headed to the lottery and would probably get worse with these trades; this would improve their chances to win the lottery again, allowing them to draft John Wall with the 1st pick (I know this is a long shot but let's be honest, the Clips are due for some good fortune).
For Toronto, they make this trade because they get an all-star player for Bosh, who would be a perfect fit with their team.
And there is one more thing; the Clippers could buyout Ray and Eddy's contract for the remainder of the season, allowing both players to resign with the C's...making the deal even sweeter for the home team.
Any thoughts...
