I know it may sound absurd to many but I still like this team and feel it can win the championship this season.

The blown leads, lack of rebounding, second half collapses, etc, are still unacceptable, frustrating to death, mind-boggling, etc, but I still feel good about our current team.

I think the break will do a lot of good to the Celtics, sometimes you struggle and know what your problems are but you can't fix until you get some break, some rest. It looks to me like the Celtics were (consciously or not) waiting for the break in these past few weeks.

Not making excuses for them, of course, their recent level of play is an abomination and inexcusable.

KG's health and Pierce's health will be key to our potential success, but I really think they will get better.

There are still a lot of positive things we've seen in the last few games... well, at least the bench is starting to get back to its early season level of play and that's a good thing. Marquis' return has been a big boost and Sheed spent 95% of his time in the post in the last game, with much success.

What I am saying is that, once again, the talent and all the pieces are here and finally we have all our players healthy. Well, Kevin and Paul are clearly more about 60% than 100%, but if they get better, I don't see why we couldn't get back to our early season form.

Our biggest problem has been our offense. Turnovers and poor shots, lack of ball movement are really due to a lack of focus, not of talent or due to age. Defensive struggles would be more worrisome because it would mean we don't have the "legs" to defend anymore but that's not the case.

The problem is physical for two of our Big Three, but mostly mental and a question of focus for the whole team.

Seeing Sheed going into the post on almost every possession he got the ball last night makes it clear that the team will probably get it going and change its attitude after the break.

It may sound silly to assume the team will get back on track because Sheed got back in the post but he is the perfect "barometer" of the team in my opinion. The guy is known for doing what he wants his entire career but after disastrous performances he finally accepted to use his strength for the good of the Celtics. This tells me that we will turn it on - hopefully just after the break.

No need for a big trade, Ray must stay a Celtic. Bringing another player won't suddenly cure all our problems and change the whole mentality or sloppiness of the team.

The break and a little more focus will do wonders in my opinion. Who is with me?

Mine as well get something for Ray Ray while we still have his contract, this season is starting to look a bit lost. KG isn't going to be what we want, Pierce has been on and off and Rondo is our only true star player this season. We have been jerking Ray around too much, it's time for us to cut business ties with him.

Give it up man KG is absolutely finished. He has played over 40000 intense career mins(that's top 20 all time I believe) He is never going to make it back to where he was just 2 years ago. The C's are 10-11 against teams above 500. This is not a championship team, hopefully they can trade ray and at least get a younger SG or PF .

I'm not saying KG should get back to his 2007-2008 form but going to his early 2009-2010 season form would be great, and I think he can go back to that since it was just 3 months ago, starting after his buzzer beater against the Knicks in New York.

I don't see why it's unrealistic to say that KG will get back to the good shape he had less than 3 months ago...

I don't agree with the jerking him around but, yes get rid him for some scoring and someone that can stay on his feet.

Although in regards to the OP.  I'm not counting them out as long as they make the playoffs and they still have everyone available sans Ray.

That is the hope, that KG gets back to his form of a few months ago.  I'm not sure if he can get to that level or not right now.  He looks like an old broken down man right now and it's sad.  The Baby for Augustin trade seems kind of ridiculous given the condition of KG.  We need a good big man more than anything.

I have the same concerns with this team as I've had in the past two seasons. Nothing has changed. Two years ago we were completely dominating throughout the whole season, just to get to the playoffs and struggle quite a bit. So this means nothing to me. The Playoffs are a completely different beast, and we'll see which team shows up then.

KG can still contribute good shooting numbers(some nights), but he can't move laterally at all. Guys like Kris Humphries and Emeka Okafor are able to blow by him and KG can do nothing about it. He also has no jumping ability, I think he has made like 1 of his last 10 alley oops. If KG can't move laterally or jump I think it is just hopeless as far as winning a championship goes. At this point KG is a glorified role player.

He is no longer a good rebounder, defender or shot blocker. Not because of lack of effort, he just doesn't have the physical tools to do it anymore.

My concerns are totally different from that year.  Actually I had no concerns that year until we played the Hawks.  I knew that if we played to our potential we would be champions.  This year there is much more to be concerned with.

Co-sign

One other fact: The Celtics have blown more second half double digit leads, 8, than any team in the NBA. Not a lot of confidence building in that stat.

I'm still confident this team can win a championship in June. Losses have been frustrating somewhat, but until they are beaten in a Seven Game series it's not over.

I believe they even have a window next year, too, but that is just me.

Confident? No, I think cautiously optimistic is more accurate.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Sadly, I'm ready to see all of the Big 3 move on.

The run with this group of players is over.

I really find curious the dynamic currently going on in this board... you guys mock all the different fans from different teams for the particular behavior that is going on in here. I had the impression that we were supposed to be the better fans, but we're behaving like complete losers.
