Big Baby Deal Dead?:   Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe is reporting that the rumored deal yesterday that would have sent Glen "Big Baby" Davis to the Charlotte Bobcats is likely dead. The jist is that the talks involving Davis occurred several weeks ago and that neither team seemed ready to move suggesting nothing was close, mainly because Boston is reluctant to move Davis and break up the Celtics' front court The Bobcats are however looking for a front court player before the deadline and have sniffed at not only Glen Davis but at Orlando's Brandon Bass. The Bobcats are offering up second-year guard DJ Augustin as the meat of any deal, but may be willing to toss in Acie Law or Stephen Graham to make a dea work under the cap .

If I was Danny I would trade Sheed instead of BBD if the Bobcats would do it. At least BBD grabs some offensive rebound and hustles.

Get Sacramento involved in a 3 way trade sending Ray , DJ Augustin and a pick for Kevin Martin + Nocioni. It metions that Martin is the player the C's covet most later in the article.

Here is a rule I live by when listening to trade rumors. The only time a rumor is reported and the deal actually happens is when the rumor is "team x and team b have agreed in principal to a deal".

If you hear "nothing is imminent". The trade was probably discussed weeks ago and is long dead. If you hear "they are looking for a 3rd team to make the deal work" the trade is 75% of the time not going to happen.

The only time we will hear a rumor about this team that could come true will be on the day players are actually traded, probably the deadline.

It's true that every rumored deal we have heard about in fact was discussed several weeks or months ago and had no chance of happening.

Glad to hear that the Celtics weren't fool enough to trade froncourt depth for a backup PG!

Rumor offered a quote today regarding this rumor: "The rumor about me being dead is only a rumor..."

Everything in the NBA at this time of the year is a rumor until it becomes a reality.  There's posturing on both sides.  Nobody will take ownership of these things.

Afterall, Danny's never lied about a trade rumor, right?
