I hear people saying stupid stuff all the time...

its not so stupid anymore.

These guys look like they want to play when they're out there:

Daniels
Davis
Tony Allen
Rondo
Perk

so start 'em.

and those are most of the young guys....and i think we are all starting to see that there is a great divide on this celtic team.

interesting point.

something to chew on....

Yea, the young players don't believe the Big Three have enough in the tank to lead them.

And, unfortunately do to father time, they are right.

boy....if the time has come for the celtics to rebuild again, cb is not going to be a pleasant place for a while.

rebuilding this team will take a long time i think. but, ainge did it once, maybe he will do it again.

The rebuilding/blow it up thing doesn't make a lot of sense to me. If it is time to "blow it up", then that would mean that KG/Pierce were washed up, and if they are washed up, they can't be unloaded. So what do we do?

We made our bed in 2007.  We have to lie in it until 2012 (at least).

Unfortunately, while the 2007 trades meant we got a championship in '08, it also meant any rebuilding process would take a lot longer unless the Big 3 retained their value for as long as possible, easing the transition.  That doesn't seem to be the case right now.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

Yea, seems like Pierce needed the month rest just as much as KG did.
seems like neither of them will bounce back... :'(

yessir.....this started last year.....ric bucher told bill simmons earlier this season that it happened again...we all dismissed it saying it was old news but it really isnt. you have PP, KG and ray on one side wanting to be the focal point and you have rondo and perk leading the other side...and you have us fans in the middle taking the brunt of it all

I don't think it's a young vs old rift, it looks to me that Perk is really isolated against all of this teammates - including Rondo - and his body language has been terrible these past few weeks.

i can't see KG being able to play 2 more seasons...and unless PP visits the fountain of youth, he might not make it either.

Rebuilding takes time. But they're tradeable as expiring contracts in 2011 and 2012 respectably. If we were to position ourselves as best as possible for 2012 by building a decent bench, trading Ray and, yes, sadly Pierce for pieces (Kevin Martin would be a fantastic acquisition), then they can be paired with Rondo, maybe Perk, whatever we end up getting with KG's expiring, and our MLE to make a pretty [dang] good team in my opinion. Might be able to get an OK pick or two, also. We take on other team's long deals they want to get out from under in exchange for expirings, and bam.

i still don't understand how 11 losses have come from blown second half leads of 10 plus points.

Old broken down teams have trouble finishing younger teams due to being out of gas, as manup surmised?

I think, honestly, that's the simple and plain answer.

It was easy for some to scapegoat Sheed way back when. Now he's just another part of a diseased team.

we all knew it was a short window...we got one and i think most of us thought we would get 2 titles out of it. this is the situation that none of us wanted to face...

i think crownsy is right. i have wanted to hide the truth....but boston is just too old.

That's a very graphic image.

Think about it.

yup.

horrifying.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Honestly, i'm very happy with one title, if thats all we can get.

That was a magical year, and that team played nearly flawless basketball all year. I wouldn't trade that year for anything, and that's the truth.

I'm greedy as hell, and want one every year, but if all this team brings us is rondo and perk as building blocks in 2012 and a title, im ok with that.

Not happy of course, but very ok.
