Jared Jeffries is a complete stiff.  I would not trade for him under any circulstances. Not even for Scalabrine.

Hmmmm. I don't think i'd agree with that --- Jeffries may not be an all-star but I think his defense alone would be an upgrade from Scal.

Not that I'd do the deal, but Jeffries is the most enticing name coming back from NY to me...

How about if they gave you Wilson Chander to take him and you gave up only junk? Not likely, but worth asking.
Wilson Chandler instead of Jordan Hill would make it more interesting.

Swapping two rotation players (Sheed/Daniels) for two others (Nate/Chandler). Jeffries a decent non-rotation reserve. Worth considering.

Yeah but the Knicks are not giving him up, so we can go back to pounding sand about the current roster.

Also worth pointing out that they'd not have Daniels bird rights, so he really does very little for them.

No interest in that trade
I agree, Hill doesn't help the team now and I really don't like what I've seen from him so far.
Me either -- a big man who can't play a lick of defense and is a garbage man who doesn't score efficiently enough. Afraid of contact on both ends of the court. Good rebounder though.

Reminds me of Chris Wilcox ... without the offensive efficiency.

Hill could stink - but he HAS to be more energetic than Wallace, and it's not like his shot selection could be worse.  And yes this is fully acknowledging he is mothballing on a bad team.  I'd rather move House than Daniels, only because Robinson would be duplicative otherwise though.  Fun deal to chew on.  Jeffries would play better post and perimeter defense than Wallace has shown an itch to do this season.

Hmmm, maybe I misjudged it.  I thought the fan base was down a lot more on Wallace than this.
Chris, I gotta say that there's a lot of hating of Wallace right now, but he is what he is. Part of that "who he is" is a very effective low post scorer and defender. I don't want to see him hanging around the 3 pt line, but some of that has got to be levied on the coaching staff. And on the other side of the ball, he doesn't move the feet well, but is pretty good at banging with the big guys. Yeah, we all want him to shut up, but a lot of that is his reputation. He breathes, he gets a tech. Nothing can be done to change that. I also think that come playoff time he will step up. I just hope they ALL step up together.

Nah, with Tony Allen playing well, the haters just need someone new to hate, and they have singled out Wallace.  Wallace hasn't played that badly.  He's 35 years old too, and you can't expect him to hang with the young studs any more.

Yes, that is understood. And to clarify for everyonje, if the Kniks get LeBron they CANNOT afford to keep David Lee. They won't have enough space left (unless they deal Jeffries/Curry for expiring contracts by Feb. 18). what they can do, however, is use David Lee/Nate Robinson/Al Harrington/Larry Hughes in a sign-and-trade deal to bring in a second max player. That is their Plan A.

That makes no sense.  If the Knicks can't afford to keep David Lee, it will be because the renounce his rights to open up cap space.  If they renounce his rights, then they cannot sign and trade him.

Agree with this 100%.  I've said it many times before that Jeffries is one of the few players in the league NOT better than Scalabrine.

He could be saying that they wouldn't retain David Lee to pair with LeBron and whatever small bit of cap space they'd have left.

I do agree that his statement doesn't make a ton of sense.

you'd trade for jeffries to get wilson chandler, nothing less -- not nate or hill or douglas or anything else.

the knicks should do this, but wont. it's going to be fun watching them suffer this summer.

Wilson Chandler isn't all that good. He's not worth taking Jeffries contract.
