After getting outscored 36-11 (unblankin'believabe)in the latest 3rd quarter collapse, how can even the most ardent proponents of the "stay the course", "please don't trade Ray, he's our best chance of winning this year" strategy not believe that this roster needs a huge shakeup to have a chance of winning this year.

This team has no hunger and no fire. They are listless and lifeless. The only way that this team has a shot this year is a major shakeup with an infusion of new blood. Ray is our ticket to get that new blood. How well he is or isn't playing is irrelevant. How good or how bad his defense is is irrelevant. Whether he is one of the problems or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is that he alone can (by far) fetch the most talent. Unless we get that new blood, those fresh legs, those younger bodies who are hungry  and are competitors, we have no chance this year or anytime in our two more years of KG et al. Why do so many posters refuse to admit and acknowledge this.

Even if the Cs were to come back from the newest 3rd quarter debacle and make a game of it or even win, that oh so familiar 3rd quarter collapse should not be swept under the rug, although some will attempt to do so. It is symptomatic of a very fundamental lack of hunger this year that permeates this ball club and needs to be addressed: with new blood and new bodies.

Sometimes change needs to be effectuated for change's sake. Trade Ray, and while you're at it, trade that poor excuse for a combo? guard, Eddie House.

Who are we going to trade Ray for that's going to solve our problems, either in the short or long term?

Don't think we can just sit on our hands and pray/hope that somehow time will light a fire in this team.

Im sorry guys but this team is going nowhere with Ray Allen! He has not had 1 good game against a good team this season! and yes i was one of those ppl that were against trading him but not anymore he lost his shooting touch and this team seriously needs another scorer or else its gonna be hard to compete against any of the other top 3 teams in the east!

Id seriously consider giving up ray and a draft pick if the C's can get another scorer! i saw the entire team try against orlando today and against the Lakers last week but the only guy who just doesn't seem like he cares is Ray!

This is not acceptable by the C's and i dont think they're gonna sell as much tickets if they dont shake things up

The only problem trading Ray is going to solve (barring a "Gasol for Kwame" trade), is that this team will no longer get those double digit leads that they will later squander away.  They'll just be mediocre the whole game.

I like how you think just any trade will make this happen. Now, your answer seems sideways. Trades just for the sake of trades will not do anything.

Various Ray proposals have been batted around for weeks.  We're all familiar with them.  I don't think we have a legit shot at a title this year, so I'm for hastening the rebuild by trading Ray.  Iggy would be my preferred choice.  Ellis has some appeal too.

Either one would be better than Ray in the long term, and quite possibly this year too.  Martin would certainly be better long term too.  All the same names that have been brought up over the last several weeks.

If a team is losing because calls aren't going their way or if they're getting bad bounces that's one thing. However, when a team shows a lack of intensity and a complete inability to close out games that quite another. Our team definitely needs a change, be it small or large,  in order to provide the spark that's missing.

We don't need a trade unless we swap roster with Cavs.

I'm very skeptical that any of AI2, Kmart, or Ellis will be traded strictly for expiring contracts.

Funny, I would have said Rasheed was the one who didn't care..I am definitely in the boat for trading Ray (not because I think he is a bad player or washed up, but because of his valuable expiring contract), but to call him out in a game like this is unfair.  Ray wasn't anything special but it didn't strike me like he was disinterested..let alone he was the only one who didn't care.

I agree.  They'd all be attached to more unpalatable contracts, which is the only reason their teams would dump them.

Who are we going to trade Ray for that's going to solve our problems, either in the short or long term?

Iggy and Dalembert.

Iggy can score, defend opposing teams big men, shoots well, gets to the free throw line, doesn't need the ball in his hands to make a difference on the game, and hes only 26. His contract is around 13 mil a year which is a bargain for a player like him. He fits the system and with the way Pierce has shot the three (besides the magic game) we can use him for the long ball.

Dalembert brings great length and athleticism to the bench and the front court. He is rebounding very well this year and is blocking shots nicely. He has shot well and stats wise he has had a career year on a bad team. Bringing him off the bench allows us to have a hustle guy who can lay in the weeds and get up for a block shot to start the break...Unlike Sheed and Garnett who have just layups go in without contention or unlike baby who has a 3 cm vertical. Dalembert has a big contract but it only has one more year after this one and we can use his contract to make a trade next year if need be.

Ray, Scal, and Baby should make it happen.
