Why for Boston?
Iguodala gives us an immediate replacement for Allen and gives us a swingman for about the next 8 years. Hinrich gives us the steady ballhandler that we've been looking for. Dalembert is an intriguing player in our system. He's a good rebounder and shot blocker, but seems to lack motivation. Interested to see him alongside KG to see if that provides a spark. His contract expires after next year, so the risk is small and he provides us an expiring contract chip if things don't work out.
We're getting pounded on the boards and both Dalembert and Iguodala are good rebounders at their position. In addition, this will give us much more of a nasty defensive minded approach that we seem to have lacked since early last season.
Why for Chicago?
They get out from under Hinrich's contract, get a proven veteran, and become major players in free agency this summer. In fact, this deal is so good from their perspective that they would likely have to add their first rounder next year (mid-teens) to either us or the Sixers. Again, that's not necessarily a bad thing since it eliminates the cap hold for the pick and frees up more money for a FA.
Why for Philadelphia?
They want to shed salary and Iguodala and Dalembert are highly rumored to be dealt. They also could agree to buyouts with Scalabrine, House, and James which would save them more money. They could give impending FA's TA & Giddens a closer look for a possible re-signing the following year. I would not object to shipping the Chicago 1st rounder to them in order to help seal the deal.
