And alcohol is fun. I hope they ban alcohol ads the same way they did with Cigarettes.

I took a lit class called "Social Movements in late 19th-early 20th century literature"

We read like Winesburg Ohio, My Antonia, Country of the Pointed Firs, etc...

And part of it was that because of the rapidly changing social landscape, due not in any small part to increasing immigration, white men felt very threatened, especially their own masculinity. There were "Electric Belts" to improve um...vitality...and big game fixed hunting became popular.

Fast forward to today...everyone is freaked about losing their job, about the country's changing racial demographics...seems like a kind of parellel.

Now, ladies and gentlemen, The Who!

The definition of good news:  learning that you inverted your boxes, and finding out that you had 6-0 Saints, rather than 6-0 Colts.  $300.  Wahoo!

My dad just called me up, complaining about that.  The wussification of the American male is rubbing him the wrong way.

Worse than Gloria Esteban and Shaka Khan?  I think just about every halftime show in the 90s absolutely sucked.

Yeah, they've gone to the "classic rock bands" well a few too many times, I think.  U2, good.  The Who, good in their prime.

The Who are old, and singing songs about being young and rebellious, so it's kinda cheesy...but they're way better than Springstein's creepfest last year.

Very sad.  The Who's one of my all time favorites, and Pete Townshend was probably the best concert I've ever attended.

I hate the whole "medley" thing.

I wish The Who hadn't done the half time show.  :'(

The half time show of teh Super Bowl is a really hard thing for a rock band to do.  Really hard to put on a "real" show. That's what made U2's performance after 9/11 so flippin' great.  They didn't shrink down the act.

Quick summation of every single spreinsteen song:

Poor. Guitar. Factories. America. Girls. Repeat.

I'm watching the Superbowl with my parents for the first time in like 8 years (hence why I can get all these witty rejoiners in)..and my dad spent the entire halftime show telling me how awesome the Who were when he saw them during their tour to support Who's Next's release. He was saying the same thing...he's pretty bummed now actually.
