I don't really see "laziness" on defense. His lateral movement is shot and you can easily beat him off the dribble. He shows to me that he is trying with all of his steals that he is a very crafty player and does the most with his brain on the defensive end.
And his lack of side to side movement doesn't make me as optimistic about that 3 year deal.

In my view, Sheed's biggest problem at this point of his career is that he just don't have the legs to play NBA basketball any more. He's still a top defender 3ft away from the rim, but that's all. Gasol ran circles around him like Sheed was a statue.
It doesn't really matter your activity level or how much your willing to sacrifice your body and all that stuff if you just don't have the physical ability to play any more. He is playing exactly like he played in Detroit last season. Nothing to do with laziness or being out of shape. He's just imploded in physical terms.
Hopefully, he goes through a hot patch during the play-offs.
