So I'm listening to 98.5 Sports Hub and this is what Tanguay is says is going to happen.

in this order:
1.) Do not trade Ray let his contract expire
2.) Have Pierce (the key is he has to be on board with this whole plan) opt out.
3.) Use remaining 18mil (his math, haven't done it myself) to sign Joe Johnson, or Wade, or Bosh, or whoever.
4.) After that signing, then resign Pierce to cap friendly contract.

This is what they're discussing, and Tanguay is adamant that Pierce is on board with this plan.

Yea I've been skeptical about getting excited about anything Tanguay says.  I know he's a moron.  I was just not sure how the Pierce Bird rights work to allow another player to come in.

Perhaps someone should also remind Mr. Tanguay that the NBA collective bargaining agreement has a general prohibition against cap circumvention.  If Stern finds circumvention, it's a $2,500,000 fine, forfeiture of a first round draft pick, and the player's contract can be voided. And that's just for the first offense.

Yea this is pretty bad.  Now I don't know all the rules regarding this stuff, but for someone who claims they do it's kind of embarassing they're talking about something the really don't know anything about.
