lester hudson sucks.  Get over it.

You guys really gotta stop losing your crap over every Orien Greene and Kevin Pittsnoogle who spends a couple months with the Celtics.

Yeah, but you have to admit that Brandon Hunter got a raw deal.

Good for lester. People don't forget he is still a rookie. I don't think he even played a 100minutes in the NBA. Give him Time.

I will root for Hudson, but let's have some perspective. Allan Ray had some good games.

come again??? lol Lester is far better... Allan Ray never had a Quadruple Double ever in his basketball career. That stat alone told me Lester was special with patience, but Doc is an Airhead when it comes to the young players, unless he's forced to play them.

Against the NBA champs? When he was on the Cs, he was obviously a more NBA ready player than Giddens -- and at a thinner position. If turns into a legit NBA back-up, dropping him over about $450K will look pretty silly.

not sure why this hasn't been posted here yet:

http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post?id=12780

"Hudson is a shoot-first small guard, a species that often has trouble adjusting to the NBA, but he has a good body and competes very well at the defensive end — in last night’s second quarter he took several shifts against Kobe Bryant and held his own. What has to improve is his ability to run pick-and-roll plays to get shots for others rather than just a wild jack from 25 feet. If he can manage that, he’ll be in the league a long time as a Bobby Jackson-type bench scorer."

Nice to see--and he finished with 13 points in 12 minutes.

  • Let them hate, as long as they fear
Daniels, when and if he ever comes back will be a fine player too.
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine

He certainly isn't shy shooting, from the catch and off-the-dribble. But he doesn't do much else, does he?

I disagree he's a good defender, at least at the PG position. Very slow-footed. Guarding slower, bigger guards he can be serviceable, strong guy.

I think the reporter probably only saw him in the game against LA, where he had to defend the ghost of Derrick Fisher and Kobe, a 2 guard that nobody is really expected to defend.  It's a good matchup to look like you have potential defensively.

Being a good shooter can keep someone around the league a long time, though.  Ask Eddie (Brick) House.

It would have been nice to keep him around at least one year and see what happens.  Not like we have too many 1st/2nd year players plugging up the roster, and releasing him didn't make us better.  It's the vet role players with no upside at all weighing down the bench.

alright my post got modded no idea why so I'm gonna go ahead and say the exact same thing again:

good thing we got rid of Lester Hudson and kept JR Giddens, its not like Giddens sucks has no idea what he's doing on the court, so I completely understand the choice to keep the proven failure over the guy who has shown nothing but promise.

Idiotic move by Danny Ainge - and don't tell me "money" because they both are on rookie contracts. Yes, keeping Hudson and cutting Giddens would have cost a few hundred thousand more, but in the NBA that's peanuts.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Can he shoot as well as House? It's not that easy. House was a stellar scorer/shooter in college. Hudson would need to develop as a shooter to reach House's level and he's already an old prospect.

TPs are awarded to those astute posters who whip out the Kevin Pootsnickel and Allan Ray references. My mind draws a blank right now but not everybody can be a Darren Daye or Oscar Gamble.
