With all the talk about trading Ray, a big issue that is flying under the radar is our backup pg problem. Trading Ray is still not going to solve the problem that we are absolutely screwed when Rondo leaves the game. First, the ball movement completely stops and our offense becomes stagnant. Second, the onus is put on Pierce or Ray to run the offense. Their minutes increase and they have to work a lot harder on offense.

So my idea is to forget about trading Ray and focus on getting Ramon Sessions. He is a 23 year old back up point and would be a great compliment and change of pace when Rondo comes out. He gives us different look  in that he is bigger (6 3) and can actually run an offense (unlike house/allen). I have been reading some Minnesota trades rumors. One that said Kahn would be willing to trade Sessions if he could get Rubio to come to the NBA. He also said they were looking for bench production out the pf/c spot. Now I know it's a big if that Rubio comes to play for the Wolves but it at least shows Sessions is somewhat available for the right deal. My trade proposal would be Glen Davis and Eddie House for Sessions and Pavlovic give or take some picks (it works with trade checker). We get a back up pg and an expiring contract and they get a very good back up pf for the future.

Any thoughts? Does this seem realistic?

TP, exactly what I was gonna bring up. If we can get a combo guard like the Heimlich maneuver, we'll be able to start him at SG, but have him play the point as well.

Yeah, I feel this team can improve without trading Ray, or any of the starting unit.

The moves i feel danny should make is getting combo guard: Keyon Dooling, Sasha Pavlovic, and Sean Williams or Dominic McGuire.

We need some young athletic legs on our front line. Sheed-KG(run down knee)-Baby(cant get above the rim)-Scalabrine-Shelden Willams-Perkins

We need athleticism on our front line. desperately, thats one of the main factors of our poor rebounding.

Sasha- decent wing, with size, can knock down the 3, can play the 2 or 3, expiring contract, playoff/finals experience

Keyon Dooling - vet, combo type guard, can create off of dribble, athletic, can shoot, all-around good guard.

we would deeper, cover our weak areas and not be locked into major contracts past this season.

Haha, back up "point guard", Eddie House is pretty much getting outplayed by Earl Boynkins in this Wizards game right now.  Just thought I'd throw that out there.

I like the idea of Hinrich, but not for Ray and I can't think of any other way to get him. That's why I think Sessions is a more realistic. Both teams are getting something they want in this deal

Our former back up PG Lester Hudson lit up the Fakers tonight for 13pts in 12 minutes.  ;D I hope we didn't make a mistake in letting him go.  :'(

One thing I did think last night was how much the 2nd unit misses Marquis Daniels.  Everyone has been railing on Ray as of late but has anyone looks at eddies stat sheets.  We know he isn't really a backup pg but if he isn't hitting outside jumpers he is nearly useless.
sure i'll trade eddie for hinrich and scal for battier  ;)

LOL. This very thread is about replacing Eddie as backup point guard and you suggest noone is talking about how bad Eddie has played?

Let's take a look at how this team looks with Daniels running the show.  I think he will really improve things, and help House to settle back down.  If not, there will still be time to make a minor trade, or more likely try to get a buyout.

Right now, we are in no-mans land as far as player movement.  Teams are not ready to make trades yet, and its not worth using up a roster spot yet.  I know its painful, but give it another month, and if it doesn't work itself out (or even if it does), I am sure Danny will pick up another PG.

The backup pg issue hasn't been under the radar here.  It has just been under Ainge's radar.

  There's also buyouts.

Although this kind of fits in the "if we're all healthy" category, I don't really hate Tony/Maquis/Sheed as our first three off the bench in the playoffs. Last year we almost beat the Magic with Scal/Eddie/Marbury.
