In order of inmportance...:

1. To get HEALTHY. This team has not once had all their key rotation guys healthy this year. When guys come back, someone else goes out. It may be age and miles ( mainly with KG ) but the rest is just really bad luck with injuries.

I'm suprised people get so down on the team and not take inot consideration the injuries and what that does to cohesion and the ability to be dominant.

We need to get HEALTHY and play together for a while to get some cohesion and momentum going. If we get this and KG can really stay helathy, we get another title, easy.

2. We need to get punched right in the nose just about as many times as any other team is willing to. We need to take some real good shots right in the teeth like today. And hoepfully getting kicked in the teeth enough will A) Wake us up and B) Make us a little angry. We need to play with an edge. Alot of times this team tlooks like they're sleep walking even when they're healthy. AND PLAYING WITH AN EDGE IS WHAT MAKES THIS TEAM DOMINANT WHEN THEY ARE; THAT IS THEIR PERSONALITY. And much of the time they aren't playing true to their form.

3. We need more nasty off the bench. PJ, Posey and Leon were TOUGH, TOUGH, TOUGH. Not your usual tough, your UNUSUAL tough. This team lacks it. I'd love to see Baby do it, but though he's strong he is just not nasty. Rasheed can be nasty but he's too old. I'd love to see us be able to bring in a Reggie Evans type or some other guy with a nasty side to him to anchor the bench in that aspect. Right now, TA is our toughest guy off the bench, but he's 6'4"....

4. Last thing we need is a trade. Doesn't have to be a major one, just the right one. We need someon with a major attitude coming off the bench. I like Rasheed actually if Doc would plant his but down on the block more where is actually the most effective. But in terms of attitude I mean either someone with a major nasty streak or just a major motor. Mayber Monta, Raja and Turiaf for Ray, Shelden and Giddens if GS really wants a salary dump. Hopefully with a wink wink that GS would buyout Ray so he could come back.

Perkins / Rasheed
KG / Turiaf / Baby
Pierce/  Daniels / Scal
Ray / Raja  /Tony
Rondo / Ellis

Now we've got some attitude and energy off the bench.

If you can't make a big trade, try to bring in a Nate Robinson and a Reggie Evans type somehow.

Mostly I'd like to just see them get healthy and keep getting kicked in the teeth enough times until they wake and realise they have to play and with some instensity.

bets thing about the last two losses to the Hawks and Lakers? They actually showed a pulse like they were interested in being on the court and in a fight.

Sadly, what we need is what Leon Powe used to do for this team!!

Surely if he didn't get injured last year Danny would have signed him.

He fills a HUGE void right now, toughness and rebounding.

that's the breaks.

I TOTALLY agree with you. The difference between this years team and last years is exactly what Leon used to bring to the table....toughness and rebounding, just like you said. I know it was unrealistic for us to sign a guy who was hurt, but man do we miss him. I would give anything to have Leon back right now.

I am really looking forward to having Marquis back in the lineup. He does more for the team than shown on the stat sheet. I Would like to see the ball go through KG more on the offense.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

We need somebody to score for us down the stretch of games.  With a starting five who can all create their own shot, I don't see why this is a problem, but it is.

HgH sounds good.  Maybe Lebron can spare some. :P

I am convinced we need to trade Ray for sure. Good trade offers should be posted until trading day.  None of the pie in the sky ideas, but solid ideas that Danny will be reading and his staff would entertain.

  • Rondo = Good
I agree that we need some fire, intensity, toughness, and energy off the bench.  You're right that the only bench guy who really does that is TA.

Posey, Powe, and PJ really gave us that element when they came in.  I miss the Celtics being a team that was known for gritty, physical play and intensity.  Our starters give us that, but there's a noticeable drop off when you go to the second unit.  As you noted, Rasheed has a certain kind of tough "energy," but it's not always the right kind.  Usually it's just him whining to the refs and getting techs.

We need somebody to score for us down the stretch of games.  With a starting five who can all create their own shot, I don't see why this is a problem, but it is.

I really miss having a guy off the bench (or a guy on the team, period) who we could always count on to hit shots in the 4th quarter.

I remember during the '08 playoffs my friend used to joke with  me "Posey can't miss during the 4th quarter."  At times it really felt like that.  Posey hit shot after shot in the 4th quarter.  We could really use somebody like that.

Most of all our bench needs a PG though.  Rondo can't always be out there running the offense, and he shouldn't have to be.  Right now, whenever Rondo isn't running the offense, it stagnates.  It's awful.  Eddie is a shooter and that's it.  We need a backup PG who can be a shot-creator, not just a shooter.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

A swift kick to the bottom accompanied by a tug of the ear, followed by an accusing pointing finger and some stern words by their parents.

All of this, followed by a sip from the cup of eternal youth, a drastic pay-cut and a leprechaun for luck.

A coach who, after his pg has played a tremendous game and controlled and dominated play, doesn't have the last three possesions of the game run through PP!
