Tonight was the last straw.

I don't wanna give up on the Celtics but this is too much and is not worth it anymore.

Over the last year or so...

I can't sleep every time they lose.

My anxiety goes up before and during games that my psychiatrist had to give me ****.

I have cursed my wife with every four letter word every time she tells me it's "just a game".

4 times my wife has left the house with the Children and stayed in a hotel overnight.

Numerous times I have made my Children cry by cussing at after a bad loss.

I've suffered deep depressions after losses that I have to take Zoloft.

I don't wanna sound like a fair weather fan. I don't want to be a fair weather fan.

Anyone going through the same thing? If yes, How do you handle it?

I hope you're okay, dude.

Try the Crimson Tide for a while.   ;)

Don't feel bad about being intense (if this is legit post). If the game is causing you that much pain then you have to decide if it's bringing you enough joy vs depression. If you can't enjoy the game/season more than being angry If it's causing problems with the family then take a step back for a week or two and see what that does. I don't know the whole situation, but maybe you could tell your wife you need an hour or so after the game to cool down? Buy a punching bag to take our your frustrations, I know I could have used one after the Viking loss and poor play of the C's.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

I have to admit I've had some of the same feelings, so I'm sort of glad someone else started this thread.

The Orlando game was by far the worst loss of the 3 recent ones.  They had that one in hand and simply disintegrated in the 2nd half.  And let me say this:

I love the Celtics.  Losing hurts.  But, every game I tune in expecting a win.  I did it with the 15 win season.  I did it with the 24 win season.  And I do it today.   Whether they win or lose, I love my Celtics and they will always be worth watching.

I'm not watching many games this season... I'll wait for playoff time. Beyond not caring much whether we win or not these games during the season, that the huge amount of exaggerated "The Sky is Falling" threads here, doesn't seem worth the annoyance.

So I'm currently very relaxed, waiting for the season to finish so I can go watch the Celtics destroy LeBaby, Little Howie, and some Rapist.

RAcker, I dont know if your story is legitimate or not, but just in case watching the games is too stressing for you when the celtics lose, Ill give you my formula which has saved me a lot of stress over the last 28 yrs. of watching the Celtics: I started taping the 7th games in the playoffs and watched them later if we had won the game. I enjoyed the games with no stress whatsoever. I really didnt need the tenseness of close games; then I started taping the playoffs; then the regular seasons. Im still alive and well, so that formula has worked for me. If I find out we lost the game; fine. Not happy but at least I didnt go thru what you are going thru (if true) and thru what I had been going thru before - not as bad as you but bad enough. Then I spilled that formula to NFL, MLB and even not watching Tiger's wining put live. (true, believe me). Sometimes I see that we are so far ahead that we will probably not lose, and only then I will continue watcghing game live; If it gets close, I swicth to the taping mode and watcgh something else till game is over.
It has worked for me; theres a price to pay but Im alive with 4 by-pass heart ops. The Celtics, no matter how much I love them, are not going to kill me. Life is a a series of compromises, I have made some good ones and some not so good. This one has worked good so far. Good luck, amigo, and stay alive. It will not work for everyone so no need for anyone to hammer me with criticism
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine
