-sit sheed, play sheldon williams. and this is coming from a guy who said that signing sheldon williams was one of the 10 darkerst moments of my celtic fandom. sit guys hwo do not care and do not try. play guys who do care and do try.

-trade ray allen for the best player you can get. we all love ray allen, but he is just not getting it done now. great effort on kobe today, admirable defense by him all day, but his shot has been off all year, and he is not a big time player right now. he makes 18 mill.....half the team would love to have that expiring deal.

-trade eddie house. again, we all love him. but his shot has not been there either and if it is not, he is somewhat limited. great guy, been a great team player, played a huge role in 2008, but package him, scal and possibly TA (who played well today and has played pretty well all year since returning)

this team as we see it is done. KG has shown some (and i emphasize some) progress the last 2 games. PP got screwed by two brutal calls within the first 200 seconds today. there has been some good signs, despite the losses, but this team needs a shakeup. better we know it know than find out after the deadline.

I agree with you, something must be done.  Even if it's trading for some more consistent bench help...cause lets face it...House, Rasheed, TA, Davis...they've all been extremely inconsistent all year.

We need a Jamal Crawford type who you know you can count on to come in and get scoring done.  Keep Wallace and Daniels, Wallace for his size, Daniels for his intangibles and ability to do the little things.  Everyone else is fair game to be traded.

Unfortunately, I don't see any changes coming.  Knowing Ainge and his loyalty towards VETs and his team as a whole, I just don't see him making any kind of a deal.

the sheed signing was and is a disaster. and doc will continue to throw him out there. i remember in 2007 doc justified not playing leon because leon missed defensive rotations. mind you, no one on the team played D, but Doc felt it best to sit leon and talk publicly about his shortcomings. he was a rookie 2nd round pick.

now we have sheed, the laziest play i have ever seen, reaches, junps, goes for the steal. if he gets it great! if not, layup or dunk. no big deal, sheed.

what has he done to earn 25 minutes a night? one good game in toronto? that guy is a clown. i love DA, but he missed big time on that move.

It's also important to remember the Davis signing now.  Cause realisticly, Wallace and Daniels aren't going anywhere.  They were Danny's two big signings for the offseason.

Davis now can't be traded.  One, with all of his offcourt issues lately, two, no team is going to take on that contract we just signed him to.

So our realistic trade chips...House, Sheldon Williams, Walker, JR, Scal, TA...and Ray Allen.

Unless Ray Allen is included in a deal and/or we include draft picks, there's no way our bench is going to get a legit upgrade.

i hear ya, but davis is still solid, has relapsed a bit this year, but has shown promise, is young, and I do not pinpoint his problems on lack of effort. he has done some dumb stuff. but i would not rule him out. sheed is done and we have him for 2 more years.

at least he is likeable...oh wait, he is not (although off the court, by all accounts, he is a good guy amd good family man). on the court, he is not a good guy.

1) Play the same offense down the stretch as the offense that was working so well all game.

2) Tell KG and Wallace to get in the low post on offense.  (and if they don't, pull them.  Do it enough, they will get in the low post)

3) Stop setting up last second plays for players that are struggling.  Especially 3 pointers when only down by one.

4) Keep playing the defense shown this game.

5) Keep rebounding like this game.

Done.

I fired him 4 years ago.  I guess he didn't get the memo.  Must be a mistake over in Payroll...

Jeez, you would think someone hasn't been paying attention.  I haven't once said "fire doc" since the Celtics won the title.

1. Williams isn't the answer.  He would have been eaten alive by any and all of the Lakers big men.

2. I agree that Ray should be traded for an upgrade if possible (his expiring status + the shrinking cap for next season make that at least a possibility).  He played excellent defense tonight, but his level of play and impact have been well below what we should be getting for $18 mil.

3.  Eddie House isn't the problem, just a part of it.  He is a perimeter-based player who can't create good looks for himself and who doesn't contribute much elsewhere on a bench filled with players with identical limitations.  This leads to a ton of 3s, disoriented offensive possessions and an over-reliance on overburdened playmakers like Pierce and Ray and even Rondo.  As today's game showed, Tony Allen should not be your best bench player.

Eddie can stay as long as we diversify the bench.  Eddie/TA/Baby/Sheed don't provide enough off the bench, especially when players like KG and Ray can provide elite production anymore.  Daniels will help a little, but he'll really just be replacing the bench rotation's least dysfunctional member right now (TA).
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

No one should be happy with the loss today, but I really don't think there is a way to upgrade our team, for this season, at this point. We are what we are, which is one great shot away from beating the best team in the West. We are still contenders for a title this season, so it don't agree with blowing it up.

tp...i agree..the bench could use a shot in the arm by adding a piece, with everyone else getting healthy they will be alright.
