I definitely think the Cavs would be better with this trade.  Shaq & Brand would definitely be formidable, and Iguodala would be an upgrade.

On a side note, I'd like to see Rondo play with Iguodala.

Elton Brand and Shaquille O'Neal would be one of the worst starting defensive big man combinations in the league. Their lack of quickness, inability to cover the pick and roll, inability to cover athletic or perimeter orientated bigs would be a major weakness.

Elton Brand needs to play the majority of his minutes at center at this point in his career. Only situational minutes at PF depending on matchups.

He would be playing center in this scenario.....he would be coming off the bench for Shaq.

Exactly, and a Brand/Andy combination, with Andy covering the quicker guy, Brand in the post would be pretty good defensively, and very good offensively.

Brand isn't really a good post defender, is he?

The Cavs can get what the Sixers get out of Elton Brand. If he's used in that role.

Well, it depends if you think what we are seeing in Philly is the real Brand, or whether he would be rejuvenated in Cleveland.  Because in his prime, Brand was a very good defender.  He was not KG, but he was a capable defender who could bang down low and block shots.  Unfortunately, he has not shown that in Philly.  But he has not looked comfortable in any way in Philly, so it is tough to say how he would be with a change of scenery.

Didn't Kaman play more of the center role on LA?

He might be motivated by a change at this point, but he's clearly regressed physically at this point.

Exactly -- physically he's not capable of doing more than he's currently doing.

The body can't do what the body can't do.

  • Let them hate, as long as they fear
What I really hope is that the cavs get Iggy, Kobe, Bosh and Duncan. Those moves would really destroy the Cavs chemistry and would probaby lose in the firts round. Chemistry?? Is that what Rasheed brought to the Celtics, lots of it???? With all those TF,s he is getting, you think that helps the team?
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine

Iggy on the Cavs could be devastating.... For my fantasy team.
