The window is closed. This team is done. KG could be a sixth man but has not enough left to start and play more than 30 a game

... and yet, if Kobe had missed, people would be talking about how the Celts are back.

let's wait until what danny does at the deadline. this team as it is now has 0 chance.

No it would not. I have felt that since the injuries have been mounting and clearly Ray and KG are no longer close to their former selves, this team will not get out of the East this year.

Or if Pierce doesn't get called for the offensive foul.

Or if Ray hit the good look.

A slumping team losses on a well defended shot of possible the best player on the planet with 7 seconds left and loses by one, and the team is done?

I think the biggest problem with this team as it sits is that Rondo and PP are the only guys on the squad that can create their own shot with consistency. Unfortunately PP forces a lot of dribble drives, and Rondo can be rotated to most of the time to force him to pass the ball. The complaint I have always had about the C's, even in 08, was that their offense is bad. Too easy for other teams to adjust to and defend. Now that they don't have "best in the NBA" level defense, they just aren't championship material.

Our only hope as presently put together is that Marquis comes back and makes a difference. He can create his own shot, and is able to let Ray get a lot more rest. TA was very good today for the most part, however that isn't the TA that shows up most of the time.

Unfortunately I think we need to make a HUGE change even if it only brings some fresh blood and excitement to the squad.

So if you were offered to bet money on the Celtics winning it all this year, would you?

What are the odds?

Even up, I wouldn't bet money on any team this year; every contender is flawed.

this is more than just a slump....not saying they are done...but lets not gloss this just as some little slump....they have been bad for over a month now

Agreed.  Of course, that coincides almost exactly with KG's injury, and his comeback from it.

We played 3 of the top 5 teams in the NBA to a standstill with a hobbled KG.  I'm not going to declare the Celts done based upon that.

It depends on what "done" means.  If done means not making the playoffs or getting eliminated in the 1st round, then no not done.  Championship aspirations? Yes done.  I mean c'mon, look at these games.  I know it's hard to admit but my eyes tell me this team can't close out games, they do look old, they do look tired.

Positive people keep saying "with a healthy KG, with Marquis back etc."...well who says KG will be back to normal?  Cause going back to the second half of last season and into the first half of this season, I still don't see it.  And until I do, I have no other choice but to think this team really does have no shot of winning it all.
