I love how people call players "untradable" - never say never!

here's an idea to swap two "untradable" players

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yf85pud

Gilbert Arenas for Elton Brand

- both need a change of scenery in a bad way
- Wiz save money here (fewer years, lower annual salary)
- Wiz get a guy that can play the post
- Sixers get a scorer that can take big shots (next year)
- Sixers get a potential upgrade in talent - probably the best value you can expect in exchange for Brand

crazy?  yeah, probably, but stranger things...

And the funny thing is that this trade works for both players I think..

I say watch for a Gilbert Arenas for Vince Carter swap this off season

I think Vince has already worn out his welcome in Orlando and Otis Smith has always been a big Arenas fan

SG: Ray Allen, Anthony Parker, Quentin Richardson
SF: Grant Hill, Matt Barnes, D
PF: Zach Randolph, Kenyon Martin, Jon Brockman, Dante Cunningham

I don't think Elton Brand finds a better situation for himself than Philadelphia.

Are they going to move Jameer?

  • Rondo = Good
If Washington really did pull of this trade, I'd hope that the Sixers would also go through with their rumored deal of Iggy for T-Mac.

Arenas + T-Mac on the same team = incredibly bad defense, tons of injury potential.  Train wreck waiting to happen.  Could be pretty fantastic for a game or two though.

Well you're assuming they'd hold onto AI after this year, but yeah.

Arenas - AI - Tracy McGrady

Some of the best offensive and worst defensive players in the last ten years, all washed up, all on the same team.  Fantastic!

Can Arenas be traded even when hes been suspended for the entire season?? Just curious.

This trade really doesnt make sense for the Wizards unless they trade Jamison or Butler for a guard or two.

The only thing I could see happening with the Wizards before the season ends is taking some type of action on Arenas' contract. I dont know the legality issues or anything but if they can void the contract I think they might do that...If not I expect him to be traded this summer, though Im not sure if he will have any takers.
