He said Curry, Ellis and Morrow are off limits unless they are getting Rondo back, which of course isn't going to happen. He said other players could be available in a salary dump.

Also said if the C's end up trading for anyone it will be a combo type guard who can score off the bench.

I saw this, too. I wasn't too sure he knew exactly what he was talking about. I know Ellis is really good, but is he really untouchable? Was this trade with GS really just made up out of thin air? First he said that GS may have an interest in signing Allen as a FA and then he says that there was never a trade and [his buddy] A. Sherrod basically was totally wrong.

Corey Magette has a pretty terrible contract.  He's got like 4 years and 40 million left on that sucker.  But Boston was interested in him when he was a free agent... possibly some interest in him now?  Still, his contract is pretty brutal.

Personally I'd only take on Magette's contract if they also gave up Randolph.

We could send them a combo of expirings for the two.  Scal, Tony, Marquis... and in a dream world they also take the obese kid.

Missed Spears, but...quite a few people seem to think Maggette has a "bad contract", but it sure looks like he's playing up to it right now.  I think that might alter how a deal for him looks, i.e. they wouldn't add much of a sweetener.

Sounds like a guy we once had. Wish we still had Delonte

delonte will be suspended here pretty soon...he goes to court in Feb. and word out of cleveland is he will then face a pretty good suspension now with the arenas/gun issue the NBA has

He has also been the one who has reported rumors from the start and kept reporting them!

Yeah, I don't see how exactly is a combo guard a need. It just means that House and Daniels will play less minutes. How many minutes will be available for the backup guards in the playoffs? Rondo playing 39mpg, Ray Allen about the same... 17-20 minutes? Even if Daniels plays 10 minutes for Pierce (something that would let a very undersized team on the floor for some instances), he'll certainly get half of those 18 minutes. So, we'd have House and another player competing for 10 minutes per game? Doesn't make sense. If we get another guard, it needs to be a really good 3 point shooter and House needs to go. I'd be wary of making an experiment for the sake of a small potential improvement though.

Trade for CJ Watson

CJ Watson would be one of those cases - partially because he'd guarantee a very cheap quality backup PG for the next season (or, if an extension was agreed, for years to come). Good defender, solid shooter, mistaken free - very good backup PG for a team like the Celtics. Unfortunately, I don't see his acquisition as a realistic scenario.

If its true that the C's are looking for a combo guard I have a feeling Heinrich could be the guy. The Bulls are looking to move one of their bigger multi year contracts so that they will have enough to sign a max level free agent next year. A package of Scal,Ta or House , Giddens and Walker works for Heinrich if they want to do a salary dump.

I'd much rather wait for Daniels to comeback.
